Try to restrict the spread, as with any flu type virus, and get a vaccination manufactured ASAP.

I have just seen that British scientists have made a break through and are almost ready for testing on animals. Poor things. I do wish there was another way. Eve if they have cracked it presumably it will be months before they get production on any scale.

Cobra are supposed to be meeting to decide how we can restrict/stop travellers from China. We can of course but we can't stop free movement of anyone travelling to the EU first. Italy has already put a stop on it but that has upset the rest of the EU who want to make a united decision.

I have always felt that watching the EU trying to take anything like quick action is worse than waiting for paint to dry. I wonder how many nice sedate late night dinners they will have before they take any action.

It's a farce.

TBH when the 30000 in China are being told to come home by Matt Wancock it's our own peoples judgement I worry about not the eu in this case.
Energy....secure and affordable, not that hard is it?

Judging the seriousness of this virus is like nailing jelly to the wall. Current death rates to known infections appears to be about 2%. The NHS advisors are saying that most infections have mild symptoms. However where the virus is serious is when it goes straight to the lungs causing pneumonia.

There must be tens of thousands of people who are getting this infection, passing it on, whilst suffering little more than a bit of a headache and a runny nose.

So, then, one asks, why would we want to prevent travel if it is mostly mild. It doesn't sound anything like as dangerous as Spanish(Actually Asian) flu from 100 years ago. It is not that much more dangerous than influenza, which kills off a lot of old uns in the winter.

I think we've got to put up with it being endemic. Attempts to quarantine on The Wirral all seems a bit odd, when a cruise ship is infected and it is already spread to more than 25 countries.

To conclude, I think it is already to late to restrict travel and flights. It's already here. Try to restrict the spread, as with any flu type virus, and get a vaccination manufactured ASAP.
