Well John I was interested to see that the tanker hijackers were refused asylum by the French earlier so we should do the same, what they did was an act of piracy IMO so should preclude any rights to seek asylum here.

Yes i wondered how they managed to do that under the wonderous EU laws we are forced to use to give these scum asylum.

I suspect this is France being France (again)

But I'm slightly surprised people got arrested. They would not have lived long enough to hear their rights read to them in the old days. A pity.

I suspect given a free hand, between them MI6 and the SAS could sort the traffickers out within a month.

Yes and No.

Yes of course it is the traffickers who do the trafficking.

But if they had no people to bring.....

Ghadaffi had the right idea. Shoot the traffickers and have the trafficked walk back through the Sahara desert. Problem solved.

It could be said the Libyan people had the right idea about what to do with Ghadaffi too.

Having been down in Hastings earlier today, sheltering in the RNLI station from a nasty storm, I wouldn't fancy anyone's chances out in the channel today.
They left France, a perfectly safe country, to take a very risky trip. I blame the parents.
Well without doubt Tony Blair with the help of the French put them there, so they should be taking the responsibility, not letting neo Liberals shed the tears, while trying to make it all our responsibility, until one of them goes on a stabbing spree, or blows up dozens of kids, then it is not on them, it really winds me up. The people smugglers don't give a flying one as long as they get paid, so as long as some make it, they are in the money.
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Ask Tony Blair and his lovely wife to put them up, they have a nice high end property portfolio. After all not like they would take advantage of all those houses built in Clifton by the slave trade.

Nobody wants to see people , families or children perish in the English channel . For whatever reason these people want to come to the UK  be they genuine asylum seekers (not discarding the Dublin agreement )  village idiots , Jihadists  or economic chancers  our government should make it quite clear (and feck what any court says ) that anyone entering the UK illegally or and including  via a rubber dingy from France that they will never , ever be allowed to stay .

And until we have a government that has that policy and the balls to back it up the people will still come and some , will die .

It was  only in 1998  Britain removed piracy as a hanging offence.

If the authorities had done their damn job properly in the first place, these people would be at the other end of Europe where there is no war or persecution for them to fear, guaranteed by those marvellous europhiles.

I'll lose no sleep over this

Yes very sad some of them died,I heard some woman from a charity in Kent saying they have an absolute right to come here, well no they don't we do have any international obligations to accept asylum seekers but we need to differentiate between those and economic migrants.

I see principal boy yvette cooper has stuck her beak in,I wonder if the thoughts ever crossed her mind that her vote in support of Bliars Iraq War which she has since confirmed she was right to do so,also his famed Arab spring....how did that go then? tens of thousands dead and mayhem across the middle east coupled with a greater hatred of the west.
