Let's say a little birdy told me that the last 80 covid deaths 26 were double dosed and if single dose were as said less covered by the government's own figures that would mean 40 were single dosed, wouldn't that mean the unvaccinated were only 14 deaths or is my maths off?
You are such a can't sheepbrain, probably, but then when dealing with you can'ts it becomes a must.

Ah but you see, now they want to pump another group full of whatever, while they start making them mandatory for others, but why didn't anyone notice how they are working it?
Well maybe because fear has the better of them and most of them don't have the ability to work anything out in the first place.

Well, the good thing is Covid vaccines have stopped pure panic and until the next trigger they are stopping hospitalisations and serious illness, while the WHO cannot turn the screws, but then........

All the evidence shows that the vaccines virtually eliminate the risk of death or serious illness from covid-19.
Apart from the evidence that doesn't, i.e. The Lancet.  🤔  Be careful you don't leave your house, because there's a risk of falling down a manhole.  Maybe they can develop a vaccine for that.  🤣

All the evidence shows that the vaccines virtually eliminate the risk of death or serious illness from covid-19. But still only about half the adult population has been fully vaccinated. Even though the un-vaccinated are now mostly younger people who are at less risk of serious illness, the risk is still there and we're seeing cases and hospitalisations rising again now.

Things we still don't know are how long the various vaccines are effective for and whether or not any vaccine resistant variants of covid will emerge.

i think the point about covid now nick is the sooner we all stop talking about it , the sooner the media will get the message and the sooner we can all get back to normality.

95 % of elderly and vulnerable vaccinated , and a large proportion of adults then we must surely be approaching the end of the road and drawing a line under it all.

Well that is true Tommy, but then what do we talk about?

God knows that this Chinese flu is enough to bore the arse off of a wooden Indian, but there is not really a lot else going on.

Well we better hope Mr Mutation doesn't start getting smart.

That's what we should be doing, but the world leaders prefer to control us, and will not let the opportunity pass, so we need to keep nudging the brain-dead anti-natural-immunity people.

Vaccines don't stop you catching anything, they prepare you for when you do catch something.
Just the same as a bullet proof vest doesn't stop you from being shot at.

What's your point?
My mistake in the OP - the vaccine reduces chance of significant symptoms by about 1%, not chance of catching it.

According to the Lancet, the Absolute Risk Reduction (i.e., if you take the vaccines, how much does it reduce the risk of catching Covid, compared to someone without the vaccine):

Astra Zeneca: 1.3%
Pfizer:            0.84%

Good luck with that shite.  🤮

ARR - what it means.

Given 100 people with Covid, if the percentage of them who get mild to moderate illness is 50%, then the vaccine (ARR 1%) reduces the 50% by 1% to 49%.  So only 49 would get mild to moderate illness.  The study does not seem to look at more severe cases.

I've read that short paper and it uses terms I have never heard before.
However it does say this:Absolute risk reduction in that article has exactly what relevance?
Read it carefully.  "ARRs tend to be ignored because they give a much less impressive effect size than RRRs".  In other words, RRRs are only reported because they make it look good.  I explained what ARR means in the OP.

I've read that short paper and it uses terms I have never heard before.
However it does say this:
QuoteVaccine efficacy is generally reported as a relative risk reduction (RRR). It uses the relative risk (RR)—ie, the ratio of attack rates with and without a vaccine—which is expressed as 1–RR. Ranking by reported efficacy gives relative risk reductions of 95% for the Pfizer–BioNTech, 94% for the Moderna–NIH, 90% for the Gamaleya, 67% for the J&J, and 67% for the AstraZeneca–Oxford vaccines. However, RRR should be seen against the background risk of being infected and becoming ill with COVID-19, which varies between populations and over time.
Absolute risk reduction in that article has exactly what relevance?
