The U.K. fishing industry lied through its teeth to HMRC for years about what their catches were. When the quotas came in they were ask for their 10 year average and duly given that figure as a quota. Problem was, it was about a third of their real catch and therefore income so they suffered massively.

During this period fish prices increased massively and so the U.K. bought less and less fish. AND the fact the EU paid them to destroy their boats / give our quotas to The Netherlands.

Now is the time to reinvigorate the U.K. fish market and get fish back on the table at a reasonable price.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Is this Brexit business going to affect the mobile chippy which comes to our village. We had gorgeous fish and chips tonight for £12 and if that's at risk I demand a second referendum.

It's not long since Grimsby was the biggest fishing port in the world. How do its fishermen see the post-Brexit future?
