You're kidding - I have just read that Ireland is in terrible straits with the virus ripping through.

Today's figure for Ireland amounts to about 1 in 600 of the population in a single day, whereas UK's figure was about 1 in 1000.

I understand Ireland were going to buy some extra off their own back, but they were told to return to their box.

Poor Gerry has only had 4000 apparently. I wonder how he justifies that.

Not really toots other than  the EU taking more  control  away from member states . Some are happy for them to do that , European nations are used to being ruled by others and its not such a big deal for them to be  compliant . 
Can you imagine the uproar in the UK if today we were being told how many doses we can have by Brussels ..    They will thank us one day .

The argument goes that each member state in the EU will receive vaccines at the same time and in numbers relevant to their populations. So much for Sovereignty. I don't understand how any elected Government in any country can sit on their hands and not buy or obtain vaccine for their own people from wherever it is available and sit and wait for instruction from another body.

Can anyone explain that to me?
