Starmer is attempting to appeal to Tory voters to the detriment of all others and runs the risk of putting off more voters than he attracts. And all this flag waving bollocks looks so inauthentic. But it remains to be seen what the policy agenda will be. There is a widespread belief in the party that it will look similar to our 2017 manifesto, but with a patriotic flag waving veneer. That the mood music will have changed dramatically but most of our most popular policies will remain.

I have my doubts about Starmer, but time will tell.

Typical blairite tactics. You wont out tory the tories on things like nationalism , so the flag waving is as you say completely unauthentic , and in scotland puts of indy supporters , while unionists are by and large flocking to the tories who they see as the best bet to save the union.

Blairites like starmer and co worship the ground tony blair stands on , and scream that becuase he won three elections in a row , something no other labour leader has done , then this is proof that "triangulating" until millions of voters can no longer tell labour and tory apart is the way to go.

No matter how mant times blairite labour play out this tragic comedy farce of doing the same thing over and over and expecting it to succeed , they never learn.

Tony blair lost labour 4 million voters from 1997 to 2005 , and that was even before the financial crash , and starmer looking at recent polling has won maybe around 3% of those voters labour lost to the tories while nearly half the left wing voters corbyn gained have deserted him.

The policy agenda wont matter a great deal as i keep telling you because starmer isnt trusted by the left wing in your own party never mind the voting public , and no policy agenda is going to erase the elephants in the room which  is scot indy and brexit , so half the voters if not more in both scotland and england wont vote for the man and his party.

Time will tell , but thats around five polls i have seen in recent weeks that shows labours support floundering , and starmers honeymoon popularity coming to an end as voters see  him as weak and indecisive .

So far, Thomas, Labour have supported the Tories to get the EU deal over the line. They have supported the Tories over the CV19 arrangements and emergency measures. The only opposition in that area is coming from the Tory backbenchers who cannot abide freedoms being eroded, or should I say eradicated?

There is no opposition to the government, it 's as though they are in fear of not supporting draconian measures.

Starmer is never going to do any good. Why doesn't he oppose something?

he is terrified of upsetting the "wrong " people barry.

The  man is so "limp wristed" its unbelievable.

He is trying to win over the middle england marginal tory floating voter , while keeping the likes of srb momentum steve on board , and he is failing miserably .

Thats before you even begin to mention the elephants in labours room like scot indy or brexit.

Starmer is a man so hamstrung by fear and factionalism he darent make a move in any direction.

What actually is the purpose of modern uk labour now?

Labours slide in the polls are obviously starting to hit home , as well as the mass criticism of starmers leadership from within their party.

I think starmer is an extremely poor performer , who seems to have this knack like theresa may did before him for the tories of constantly making the wrong decision.

QuoteKeir Starmer Apologises After Fierce Clash Over EU Vaccine Claims In The Commons

Labour leader Keir Starmer has been forced to apologise after a fiery exchange with the Prime Minister about the European Medicines Agency, when he claimed the Prime Minister had been talking "nonsense".

Boris Johnson had said repeatedly throughout Prime Minister's Questions that Starmer had wanted to join the European Medicines Agency, which has been far slower at giving vaccines the green light than the UK.

Starmer hit back saying: "Nonsense. The Prime Minister knows I've never said that from this despatch box or anywhere else but the truth escapes him."

The Labour leader has infact said on five occasions that it would be better to stay in the EMA, twice at the despatch box in the Commons in 2017.

A spokesperson for Keir Starmer said: "On a number of occasions the Prime Minister has wrongly claimed that Labour wanted to join the EU's vaccine programme. That is inaccurate and the claim has been found to be untrue.

"This afternoon during Prime Minister's Questions, Keir misheard the Prime Minister and assumed he was making the same false accusation again.

"Keir accepts that, on this occasion, the Prime Minister was referring to old comments about the European Medicines Agency and Keir admits he was wrong and made a mistake in his response.
