Talking about  champagne and caviar with me is like talking about high society in Pillgwenlly.

I dont drink champagne . I have tried it once in my life and didnt think much of it , and what sort of a heathen uncultured can't eats fish eggs?

Coming back on track though, round here we have a much funnier game. The mainstream parties are urging us not to vote for a minor one for doing so will let their enemies in, the local constituency Tory leader is ranting at other party corruption having conveniently forgotten that his party leader in Wales bribed a plaid man to become a Tory

Well i had a laugh with all the labour party trolls on some scottish sites last night , it was hilarious listening to them.

We have been looking at the polls and list vote , and its looking like the labour muppets primarily and the greens taking a hit on the list vote from salmonds new alba party.

Min percentage of the vote Alba needs to win a list seat, and who it damages:

Tried and tested tactic for them so you can see why they persist when so many fall into their trap. Labour and tories are past masters of this well worn tactic , lost count the amount of times labour used to basically say to us they knw they are crap and have nothing to offer , but the tories are really bad men so if you dont vote us you will let them in.

Until people saw through them , and other alternatives became available. Trouble is though , this sort of thinking only really works on the FPTP two party system , not the mixed multi party devolved system.

Im voting snp 1 alba 2 as i said , so can't tell you how to vote , and nor would i , but if i were in wales i would be voting anyone except labour or conservative.

Do the liberals even still exist in wales?

And strange people are putting up fake websites pretending to be the party that want to abolish the welsh assembly and saying abolish want to do everything up to and including bringing  back death camps for Welsh speakers ..

Well what we are doing is running around scotland telling everyone how labour are getting on in england with the croydon /liverpool debacles.

You dont really have to say much about the tories in scotland , they are pretty much a self defeating entity that normally shoot themselves in the foot.

Abolish never said that.

i think this appears to be nothing more than wishfull thinking john. The senedd seems to be popular from what i can make out in various welsh polls , and the abolish the assembly party are only on about 3 % in the polls.

I forget how many threads we've had about this subject, but at least its starting to become a more mainstream reported issue.

You can disagree with his political reasoning, but its hard to ignore that white working class kids (particularly boys) are the most disadvantaged group. Or rather, its hard to ignore unless you are doing so deliberately for political reasons

One of those surprisingly rare occasions when politics do come down to money.

For a long time black boys were at the bottom of the working class heap, so there were various attempts to do something about this. My belief is they never really worked, but that the educational levels of the group as a whole rose as the percentage of West Indians lads with laid back mums and dads fell, while the number of pushy Nigerian and other Africans increased.

Be that as it may be, attempts to due something about the white working class boys (who were also bumping along the bottom), never really took off because there were always too many of them and thus it was too expensive to hire the extra teachers and support staff to address the problem. Plus, of course, a lot ended up in the army which had its own remedial education system. The result was that a lot of the white working class ended up with an education as good, if not better than that of most everyone else, but it was a bit later than most and did not appear in the various surveys.

Did you see how the authors of  the report done by the commision for race and ethnic disparites have had the full force of the bile hurled at them from the left/ academics / and those with a dog in the fight about portraying us nasty white people as one homogenous racist group ?

Usual analogies about the KKK , nazis  ,fascists and  token black men dancing to whiteys tune.

I have recently been advising the Education Select Committee on these issues and we have sat in on one depressing evidence session after another, hearing how it is usually white working-class kids who are at the bottom of the pile.

Ordinarily, you might expect those findings from the report this week to be making headlines and being debated and discussed.

But amid the furore over the new report — which concluded that while racism exists in Britain, the country is not 'institutionally racist' — they were ignored.

Why? Because the fact that it is minority ethnic groups who are pulling ahead of whites and it is whites who are often at the bottom of the pile simply does not sit neatly with 'woke' dogma.
