What there is plenty of evidence of is Labour's assertion and ambition to restrict press freedom through implementation of the Leveson recommendations.

Leveson has nothing to do with restricting press freedom.  ALL it proposes is that lies told about anyone or a group of  people should be apologised for promptly and corrected with the same prominence as the offending article, and at no cost to the person/people the lies were about.

OFCOM have rejected the Conservatives spurious complaint against C4.

Alledgedly Mr Johnson has threatened to review Channel 4's broadcasting licence if he wins the general election because they replaced him with an ice sculpture after he refused to attend the debate.

Always a worrying sign when politicians start going after critical voices in the media. No wonder the BBC have been doing all that dodgy stuff recently.

Yes but it was Channel 4 who started it. They are not allowed to be party political, and doing such a stunt should involve heavy sanction. Kemal is probably making sure the licence is properly worded so they can be brought to justice.

They have been pushing the anti-Tory line for decades. They are like a TV version of the Guardian.

I agree the BBC tends to side with the party in government though. Yes I've noticed that as well. During the Thatcher years the BBC even had some programmes about capitalism!

As you said 'allegedly' which covers arses and means that there is diddly squat evidence for your assertion.

What there is plenty of evidence of is Labour's assertion and ambition to restrict press freedom through implementation of the Leveson recommendations. As you say always worrying when politicians start going after critical voices in the media. Labour's illiberal and authoritarian ideological approach to suppressing dissent worries the electorate far more than the Conservative Party's decision to complain to OfCom.

BoJo either couldn't or didn't want to go and arranged for Michael Gove, a well informed and very competent Minister, to attend in his place.

I personally think that for a state owned broadcaster to refuse to allow Mr Gove to appear, an ex government environment minister with probably more knowledge of climate change and the environment than most on the panel and to 'empty chair' the debate with an ice statue because he wasn't a party leader, was puerile and damaged what still would have been a far more  worthwhile debate. After all Gove as an individual government minister has far more clout that political pygmies from miniscule parties like Plaid Cymru and the Greens.

Yet another storm in an electoral tea cup.

Hmmm "A Conservative source". Your use of the term allegedly is very wise!
