It was centuries ago and just twelve days to Christmas and Father Christmas was feeling really grumpy. The elves were behind on the toy making and wrapping and were drinking too much at night, the reindeer were unfit and refusing to do their flying practice and the sled had woodworm.

There was a knock on the door and a pretty fairy was standing there with a large Christmas Tree. 'What do you want' growled Father Christmas. 'I want to know where to put the tree' said the fairy.

And that is how the tradition started!
