India's wave which started in April is coming to a close, with around 20% of the deaths that they had in the peak.
It lasted about 8 weeks.
They have 289 deaths per million.
The UK has 1879 if we can believe either sets of stats. (6.5 times as many!)
[HIGHLIGHT]Our own Delta/Indian wave started at the end of May, so should be receded by August.

Did it take you months to think up that reply to a post i made in february?
Talk about being as slow as a week in the jail.

You didn't even check your grammar in a one sentence answer. I'd call that pathetic.

My grammar is perfect for a non native queens englishspeaker quacks.

...but as ever , fall back on a bit of grammar nazi deflection when you have no answer to a pertinent point.

It's easy enough to read the Times of India online and I couldn't find many signs of panic.

Well they are certainly down playing it Barry . The most read articles in India have the covid numbers about half way down in a top ten dominated by cricket .
That of course doesnt mean there is not a serious problem there . Looking at some of the pictures a grim situation is being made worse with the open pyres in and around New Delhi . Even those without the virus must be struggling to breath in 40+ degrees with smoke filled air .

The Modi Government has sustained itself on an unceasing wave of Hubris and often outright fantasy.
Reality is a harsh taskmaster and it is reality that is crashing onto India in spades.
I strongly suspect that the virus has been running rampant and out of control through many areas and many communities, unchecked for months and only now, when it comes back to the big cities and hitting the upper Caste's, is it being noticed for just how bad the situation really is.

Well TBH Baz no use looking at Indian news outlets https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/02/world/asia/modi-india-press-media.html
Modi doesn't like criticism and he's coming in for a lot,any major western news agency are all reporting deaths not all being recorded.

3000 deaths a day is equivalent to 150 deaths a day in the UK which has 20 times less population.

So the reports the health system has collapsed and the Indian Red Cross has appealed for help from neighbouring countries isn't a sign there's no panic or that despite the fact it's claimed this is all normal cremations are ten fold on normal times.
