its only the charity shield cromwell , probably all still hungover from holiday. You should do well again in the league if not win it.

i thought pat was saying the other day brexit means the garden of england had ran out of brandy , and wont be getting anymore unless you sign back up  to the EU?

John of gwent is at a music festival , barry is on the brandy , is normal life resuming in the face of all the adversity and doom and gloom predictions ?

Surely not.!!!

But to call them home grown these days is putting it a bit far ...

Toots is happy , her country is punching above its weight.

I really thought that the Japanese would have a disaster on their hands with their delayed 2020 Olympic effort,

Me too

Is anyone else interested? I haven't seen any reference to it and yet it is such a big deal especially for the home bred team?

In the same way that I was interested in Dave Bedford's 10k times when I was winning at "county" level myself in my late teens, and I was interested in Team GBs swimming times when we would meet them in training when our daughters went to represent their club ...
.....

I've only ever been interested in a sport when I, or my immediate family, had a part in it.... I'm a rotten spectator and it never did anything for me to be a spectator.

Like my grand daughter who eagerly goes to theatre musical and dance productions not so much to WATCH as to gather info on what the performers are doing so she can incorporate their ideas in her own performance...

... I only went to watch sport I was a participant in, and then mainly to see how they did what they did.

I've seen the effort those athletes put in first hand ...

But to call them home grown these days is putting it a bit far ...

This of course stirred it with George Best ...

at least the northern irish have the choice of who they want to represent in the olympics....gb or ireland.

Just a reminder that we have hard evidence that the Scottish public want to be represented by Team Scotland at the Olympics, not Team GB

QuoteCurrently, Scottish athletes represent Scotland at the Commonwealth Games, and Great Britain at the Olympic Games.  Do you think Scottish athletes should represent Scotland or Great Britain at the Olympic Games?  (Scot Goes Pop / Survation poll, 11th-13th January 2021)

Scotland: 53%
Great Britain: 47%

I honestly don't understand why women would want to beat seven bells out of another.

Rather that than  a "cat fight," in the ladies bog in the pub with the bog door crashing out flat to the floor in the bar with one of the two fighting women with her knickers around her ankles.
(The was some years ago, I didn't have time to sell tickets.)

I managed to get a decent night's sleep but was greeted by Women's boxing this morning. It's so unedifying. Perhaps it's a generation thing but I honestly don't understand why women would want to beat seven bells out of another. I don't know a lot about it to be fair but I was raised by a father who loved it especially heavyweight and for me there is a nastiness in women fighting. They seem to have an anger that I am not so aware of in men boxing. The little bit I saw involved a British girl (I didn't stat long enough to get a name) and it was all holding on, head butts and missed punches. Really not a good look.

What a ray of sunshine you are.

I am not interested in sport at all. Also the Olympics seems to not of interest to many people. Barely a mention on any of the internet forums I use, and no-one I have spoken to has mentioned it.
