You said the telly only goes on when she has decided what to watch   Nothing about the internet ,just the telly .  Just to be clear , do you or do you not own a television ?

What court? She is watching catchup (ITV, All4, Ch5) on the Internet. No live TV. It's fully legal.

I'll be as glad as the next man when the telly tax is abolished but is all this ducking and diving to save yourself £3 a week really worth it Barry ?

To be honest, I doubt that the Beeb is really trying. We bought the rural slum ten years ago and on average have gotten a threat every two weeks from the TV Licensing wallahs. But nothing ever happens. They don't even know our names. I have done that sort of thing before and in a few hours would have found out the brand of toilet paper the home owners gran was using, but these guys are clearly just going through the motions ( pun not intended)

I don't think that Barry has much to worry on.

Don't think that will stand up in court myself .

But fair play for taking a stance .  :hattip

Yes it is. The TV is only ever on when we Mrs B has chosen a program that she wants to watch.

Yes it is. The TV is only ever on when we Mrs B has chosen a program that she wants to watch. It's never just droning away in the background.

It's her way of defunding the BBC. We are voting with our cash, they will notice the difference, we are not the only ones.

Yes, to watch live TV a licence is required. We are not watching any live TV.

Fair enough if you're restricting yourself from watching any live shows etc.
Don't believe everything you think.

Do you not still need a TV licence for using live TV services?

I think that Itchy boots is brave, clever and rather pleasant.

I think she has a degree/doctorate in Geology.

I watched that. Reminded me of going to a coal mine nearly 40 years back. Unpleasant and claustrophobic. But in the silver mine they had no health and safety and very little proper lighting, whilst playing around with drills and sticks of dynamite.

Thanks to Papasmurf I now follow Itchy Boots on Youtube.

Series 2 episode 61 is an eye opener. Very little about motorcycling. Goes down a silver mine, (They obviously don't have the equivalent of Arthur Scargill.)  Buying some sticks of dynamite at a corner shop is a bit of a culture shock.
