Wow, that's a lot of leek seedlings. You could make a killing on those at the fruit and veg market, it will soon be £6000.

If not less Barry.

Every time I go to a car boot sale I see stalls pile high with just about every plant imaginable because there are a couple of thousand seeds to a packet and gardeners can't bring themselves to throw anything away.

But the stall holders always look a bit arse less. They are jolly enough, but rarely prosperous.

A mate of mine took over an allotment last year and being registered blind, spent most of her time falling over things. She is ok with the actual gardening, but the previous tenant was a nut for raised beds and driving yards of Dexion into the ground. So I pitched in and cleared it for her and never thought much about it.

But my mate did and sent a bill to the social services. Christ knows how they worked that out. I never mentioned or expected money, but apparently there is a rule or regulations that says if you spend a pleasant year clearing a 10 pole allotment you are entitled to £600.

Which is nice. Pecunia non olet and that and that.

But the thing is, because of this flu business I have gotten out of the habit of using cash. In fact, the only time I do is when I drop the Big Issue vendors a couple of bob and they have all legged it back to Romania.

I will pop round to Homebase and see if they have any leek seedlings, which should piss them off because they don't like handling cash either.
