I'll be honest, I saw this as a news item on Sky or the Beeb a day or so back, the images were shown without any audio at first and I thought SHIT !! TEIDI has gone up.

My big brother is quite upset about this.
Many years ago as a Career Civil Servant in the SERC and all of its other various incarnations, he was in charge of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and was based on the Island for some years managing the operational site at the top of the Volcano. The Observatory has not been directly affected by the eruption, except for smoke blocking out the sky, but he knows all the areas being obliterated by the flow very well and still has many friends on the Island.

It's possible tonight, but who knows. The whole mountain can be seen melting away. Amazing - the power inside the Earth.

Years ago read/saw something can't remember which that a large portion of the canaries will by similar action fall in to the Atlantic causing a tsunami that will devastate Americas eastern seaboard
