And it gets better. This is me posting using the Note7p.

On this phone the text box is the only area Incan type in. There is no empty text area between it and the line of emojis as there is on the Oppo

But now for the wierd bit. The truly wierd but. This is Chrome on Android 11 on the Oppo A9. The exact version is identified in the attachment. I have a second phone. It was this one's predecessor and I have kept it as a backup with a '3' card as some places I go to work have no Vodafone service.  That phone is a Note 7P. running Android 9. There is no update to Android 11 fir the phone, but it too has chrome, and the exact same version of chrome. I have checked. Yet when I use the forum in that phones Chrome browser, the phantom text box does not appear. This, gentlemen and ladies, is why I turned down the £60,000 pa job developing and testing a banking app for a challenger bank, and took the £45,000 writing the database for another instead. I'll never have to fuss about wtf bootstrap us doing to my razor pages EVER again ....

Ok this is utterly bizarre. And I really don't get what's going on. I'm a database guy but I've done quite a few years of front end development and support. And thus is my OPPO A9 android phone running Android 11 notice the empty box right below these words ... When I hit submit, this text will be accepted. Text in the box below will be ignored. Hitting modify writes test to this box and the empty one below. But any edits there are discarded
