Bank? I thought you were a Biologist, can't keep up !!

I mathematically modelled biological transport of materials across cell membranes.

The maths was the same as that used to declutter radars although dad wouldn't (well, technically couldn't) tell me when I went for the defence job interview.

Some time in the 90s it became obvious the software infrastructure to send messages to bomb things was the same as that used to send messages to confirm phantom money delivery, but the permanent salaries were on a par with the freelance contracts, the tax was less challenging and the pensions were out of this world.

Brown and Lehmann Brothers fucked that up so I had to jump back into engineering while my nephew went into my former career in cancer research.

And midway through furlough when it seemed the automotive industry employer that was handing me rishi's handout was about to tank, I got a phone call inviting me to enjoy a 30% pay rise over my full joke of a salary in the engineering sector to take what I now know of web based front ends and database back ends into the banking sector once more.

It will be the last job I'll do as health is visibly tanking these days, but at least I can afford meat, and to run the central heating. Few in the engineering sector can.

Anyway, having logged back in, can't say I find all the new technical wheelies either attractive or helpful — they make me think this is what CBBC would have looked like if the designers had been on magic mushrooms.

Maybe at your end Nick, but not only do I have to log in, but when I do I end up on a post I made a week ago.

The thing about these forums and all the other electronic marvels is that they are now so complex that one mountain of programming is being piled onto another, with the result that you can never be sure of the result.

Take my tip and open the site to all. And if any of them are rude, tell the ill mannered whore's melts to eat shit. It is easier to deal with C**ts than C++
It's not the ones that log in that are the problem, its the likes of certain members that are limited in what they can do, can log out and then read what they like as a guest.

I will open it up again.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Been away from here for a while, but thought I'd check back for old times sake. As login was automatic, I thought I'd check your comment and manually logged out, and removed pol-tics.com history — and, Lo and Behold, there's nothing for a passing browser to see apart from a misty logon page.

Certainly not going to attract new members — but you must admit, easy access hadn't done much on that front either for many months.

Anyway, having logged back in, can't say I find all the new technical wheelies either attractive or helpful — they make me think this is what CBBC would have looked like if the designers had been on magic mushrooms. More importantly, I think, they get in the way of picking and reading posts.

The drawback to that is that certain individuals won't log in and the membership will continue into genteel decline.

Yep!!

Certain individuals think they can languish on the periphery and not comply with requests. Will PM
