I don't think Vlad is gunning for royalty. The threat to royalty come from crackpots and they don't have weapons of mass destruction. Even Saddam didn't actually have them.

If Russia attack us the first thing we will know is a huge explosion as a missile drops from space. Oh, and there might be an anti-missile missile launched just too late.
