Whips using bullying and blackmail to get MPs to do their bidding is nothing new.

Yes, they were even willing to help cover up sexual abuse of children by paedophile MPs just to have a hold over them forever more. Continuing to allow young boys to be abused with impunity by such scumbags - when they could have put a stop to it - was apparently considered a price worth paying just to get them to vote the right way. How many young children went through utter hell because of this, their lives ruined? How many took their own lives? And for what? Getting the perpetrators to vote the right way?

And it seems they kept files in a safe of all the dirt known about MPs, so that this could be used to twist their arms. Blackmail essentially.

I know that times move on and the likelihood - certainly the hope - is that MPs sexually abusing minors would never be covered up today just to gain leverage over them. But that this happened at all is a window into the the sort of mindset that seems to have pervaded the place.

I have no doubt that this is not limited to the Tories either. I wouldn't put much past either of the two main parties to be honest.
