Like your good self I enjoyed the odd day out on the high seas in attempt to fill the freezer with cod but alas though successful on a couple of occasions my fishing expeditions normally ended up with 3 Mackerel and a runny nose .

Ive been freshwater 'fishing'  but I don't take a rod . A  cold box  full of beer a deckchair and a quiet riverbank , bliss.

I have fished for as long as I can remember ever since I was a small boy nets from Woolworths or Blackpool,, tickling trout my first rod and reel when one hook cost you 1 old penny, I have shore fished right around the coast of England Scotland Ireland and even parts of Wales whilst on holiday, hired boats in the English Chanel, Irish and North Seas.

But now due to age I have given up sea angling to far to drive and fish the tide then drive back to London no longer like being bounced about of a boat in rough weather.

So a couple of years ago I retuned the fresh water fishing closer to home lake and river fishing yesterday, I was fishing for Carp not too cold but the Carp were not obliging however it was still good to sit quietly and watch the Heron fishing, Egyptian Geese feeding and Parakeets squabbling as always even a Peregrine Falcon hunting.

Anyone here enjoy fishing
