The LGBT lobby is, for some odd reason, quite powerful in the church. Perhaps it is because many of the clergy of both sexes are gay or sympathisers. If Welby wants to go with the secular line, he should leave the church and form his own pagan church. He'd be following in the footsteps of Rowan Williams, rather than those of Jesus Christ.
You may understand their position better, T00ts, if you consider that they may not be believers at all. The wheat and tares are allowed to grow together until the harvest.
It just baffles me that they are reluctant to stand up for God's word. What is the Church if it doesn't maintain God's standards? I read the other day that Welby plans to stay in post longer rather than stand down next year. I should think he has done enough damage to the CofE to last a lifetime. Certainly their belief is alien to me.

The bible is confusing for many without their Church leaders confusing it even more. Is this Welby trying to remain relevant by following the secular lead? I simply don't understand his position if he cannot uphold the teachings of the Bible.

I don't think God respects Jayne Ozanne's views.
It's quite amusing that after we sent missionaries to Africa, the clergy there are having to come over to England and tell the Archbishop where he is going wrong. It's the thin end of the wedge when the church does not support the wording of its own handbook, they really should pack up and go home.
And throw away their stupid costumes at the same time. Bunch of irrelevant nancies.

Politicians have been accused of sitting on the fence recently but here is a clear example of the leader of CofE doing the same. If the Bible's teaching holds so little sway with the Church then there is no future. Love the sinner not the sin so is this the justification of it or does the church not hold to a standard any longer?
