Judging by what passes for thought processes amongst some of the members of a certain vintage here, I kind of doubt that, .

There are smart people of all ages. And stupid ones too. But to assume that any particular generation is smarter than any other is just ageist claptrap.

Yes I had a quick look myself but apparently there is a legal challenge in the offing. My days in an office are many decades ago and frankly bad tempers from the boss was then par for the course. In fact until I worked for myself it seemed all part of everyday life. Perhaps we were tougher then!

It's still whataboutery to divert from Bercow's bullying.

Since I am the one who brought up Patel I need to respond to this.

I am in no way motivated by any desire to divert attention from the wrongs of Bercow.

But what I am motivated to do is call out different rules for different people. Bercow deserves what has come his way. And as far as I am concderned, everyone can use as many pages and words as they like to say so. But I think someone being allowed to get away with bullying in high office - especially when that person is still in high office - is a greater source of concern than some political has been getting just desserts for it. The persion getting away with bullying is always going to be a bigger problem than the person punished for it.

I have to say that Bercow always appeared to be a bit of a nasty dwarf. Perhaps he had a difficult childhood.

The fact that she shouted and swore at staff who worked for her is behaviour that would be considered bullying in any workplace that I have ever been in. Anyone in authority over anyone else in my workplace who shouted and swore at them would be facing disciplinary proceedings. Apparently in her case this had the obvious effect of being percieved as bullying by those on the receiving end, yet it was supposedly unintentional.

That is not logically consistent with the facts of her behaviour unless we assume that she is too stupid to have realised that shouting and swearing at her staff would be seen as intimidatory, ie as bullying.

Oh I do agree I have been bullied by enough women to know that. Was she ever proved guilty of it or was it just a few shaky guys who were put under the cosh for once?

Oh I do agree I have been bullied by enough women to know that. Was she ever proved guilty of it or was it just a few shaky guys who were put under the cosh for once?

Hang on a minute. Who says she was/is a bully? Isn't it possible that there were those who simply didn't want to get their finger out and affect change? I might remind everyone that today is International Women's Day so not the best to upset the sisterhood.  I have read a piece only today that suggests that Civil Servants and Whitehall in general is out of touch with the rest of us. Perhaps she was updating them!

But I have even less sympathy for the double standards in play because no action was ever taken against Priti Patel for also being a serial bully.

Hang on a minute. Who says she was/is a bully? Isn't it possible that there were those who simply didn't want to get their finger out and affect change?
