They should be turned into flats and given to Ukraine refugees according to the lib dems

Ukraine invasion: Seize oligarchs' UK properties to house refugees, government told | Politics News | Sky News

I agree ???

I am ok with that provided they get some cheap Ukrainian builders to do the work.

The lads have finally finished the roof and said that they are off to Ireland for a bit of a holiday. But, I asked, why is that boys? With the prices you charge you could probably have Ireland brought over here. And they laughed and said everyone said that........

What would you suggest?
Ship them all to West Wales double tap each and return every penny if their estate to the crown
<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

Given that vast majority of UK based Oligarchs are political opponents of Putin and effectively living in exile, plus of course generous Tory Party Donners, I find this prospect very interesting.
Yes take their money and return it to the Russian people.
I can hear the Oy Vay's already :D

I never said shift into our treasury though, did I? you did.
This is true but I guessed we weren't gonna keep it in paper bags under the floorboards.  Dancing

LOL No not Russian love at all, I just feel that whatever is done with the money that it is not theft. Perhaps that is one question we should be asking. It seems that anyone with links to Putin has riches. Surely it is that we should be trying to break, but to simply shift everything into our Treasury would not be right in my mind.

Oh you think you can buy some Russian love; how do you know it has all come from the Russian people anyway? they have been investing it around the world for decades as you have just told me, in London particularly.

Really? Surely this is Russian money and should go to the Russian people. As in all Communist countries the elite are beyond rich on the backs of the people's endeavour. Difficult of course unless they are prepared to oust Putin but that time will come. His age is against him if nothing else.

I would suggest a central fund that if at any time they could prove they were not ill-gotten gains they could have them back, if not then they become a pension fund back up that the government couldn't get its greasy mits on, whichever one was in charge. After all not much point putting some of the greediest people on the planet in charge of that much cash would there?

We have properties here mostly in London owned by those with ties to Putin. We all know where they are with just a little bit of questioning, yet LIz is told she can't name them and set sanctions straight away because Civil Servants say they have to get all their ducks in a row since nasty lawyers will sue. Why can't we act first and sort out the problems later? By the time Whitehall gets it's act together everything will be sold or hidden. What a crazy set of circumstances.

@Borchester, @PostmanPat and any other Londoners please set up camp outside those properties and cause a storm.
