The other "utter crap" that is going on the world is just masking the effects of Brexit. Any bad stuff that happens here that might be caused by Brexit can be blamed on Covid or on Putin's war.  Lots of people in UK left the hospitality sector during Covid restrictions and the same is likely to be true in EU countries. As we all know, Putin's war has caused a steep rise in fuel and energy costs throughout Europe.

What we'd need to know is whether or not staff shortages and fuel costs have gone up more in the UK than the rest of Europe. If they have, that difference could be attributed to Brexit.
