The best bit being the fact that Liz made it virtually impossible for the scroungers to get any footage with her for their Netflix program. I even heard something that she banned them from filming her at all?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Everything considered I thought the whole weekend was excellent and hit the patriotic spot, kept the tourists and world TV audience on-side, and lifted most of the country's spirits. Even the concert outside then Palace was entertaining and, in my opinion, much better than the usual half-baked Royal Variety Shows that are cobbled together.

That took some doing in my opinion given the exacting environment on which it was staged — in fact, I thought the use made of the surroundings was inspirational...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

So here we are and it's all over. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a bit of something for everyone from a truly beautiful St Paul's Service with fabulous music and the intrigue and choreography of the main players, to the out and out truly British eccentricity of the parade on Sunday. It was lovely to see all parts of the UK represented as well as the Commonwealth while the voices of discontent at the Monarchy coming from some quarters was completely drowned out by the majority.

I have a couple of quibbles if I'm honest. Why didn't the Concert concentrate on UK stars and talent rather than ship in USA has-beens well past their best? The lighting set was superb and presentation pretty slick but the 'ballet' was insulting to my art. Such a disappointment where once again we have superb talents.

I see this morning that the USA contingent flew out at lunchtime yesterday making a quick and some might think a rude exit by another private jet. Perhaps they will plant a tree.
Pretty heavy weekend as expected . loads of warm beer ,cold beer and cake .

I agree about the concert , it was rubbish . We have enough current talent without digging up the has beens . There really wasnt anyone that increased their rep which says all you need to know .

I do this every new year, and I shall do it on Saturday not because of anything royal but because by God I need a bit of fun after several years of the institutional misery and confinement.

Here we go, the sun is shining and people will have a chance to let go of their troubles and do what the British do so well. Pageantry, tradition, massed bands - brilliant. God Save The Queen!  Union Flag Union Flag Union Flag

I shall be wandering a few miles up the road where we will abandon the car on my mates drive, wander down to his local for their BBQ, possible silly games and silly hats, lots and lots of ale, a couple of bands and Moira and I will stagger back to his, crash out in his spare room and go back to the pub where I shall stand him a monster greasy fry up to say thanks for the loan of the spare bedroom.

I do this every new year, and I shall do it on Saturday not because of anything royal but because by God I need a bit of fun after several years of the institutional misery and confinement.

We are going to my daughter's on Sunday where they will be having some sort of quaint village knees up with quite a bit of beer and wine involved.

That will be the extent of our involvement. I don't do banners, photos and bunting outside the house, but lots of people are doing, so that's wonderful.

Hard words Tommy.

I am about to set off to the allotment where I will feed the foxes, crows, rats and assorted vermin.

I may not win much, but every time I back a horse the price of dog food drops :)
