Me neither. And I never could. But millions of gullible and deluded voters including many on this forum saw him as some kind of saviour. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

Petronella Wyatt had a reasonable explanation in Thursday's Standard:

"The gods gave Boris much, but the wicked fairy at his christening withheld humility and wisdom"

That should serve as the summing up of his premiership in the years to come — unless (like Churchill) he gets called back in a time of greater crisis that's not directly of his own making...
I cannot for the life of me forsee ANY future in which the answer to our prayers is Boris Johnson. Even a Sharia state under ISIS would never trust a Turk to collect the Dhimmintax.
<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

With the amount of scrutiny these two investigations have been attracting, I doubt either Police force would have risked altering or ignoring the evidence.

What would be in it for them...?
A quiet life.
Energy....secure and affordable, not that hard is it?

Fantastic news. Storm in a tory tea cup , as there never was any case to answer.
Keir has taken another step towards the office of prime minister.

As has been linked to on this very forum, the claim that this was a meal break between work was torpedoed rather by revelations the food and beer were ordered for consumption at an after-work gathering but for some strange reason probably related to not wanting to be the reason for Starmer's departure the plod seemed unwilling to be just she jury and  executioner with no chance for the accused to defend themselves ... As happenned with all the other COVID FPNs

I'm sure Petronella knows exactly how much the gods gave Boris, as he gave it all to her, apparently. He's a serial unfaithful person in a marriage and just pops off here and there to commit adultery.
Maybe it is a sign that people who can't be trusted in their private life, probably can't be trusted in their public life, either. Certainly true in his case.

Boris Johnson stood way above anyone else in our nations parliament regarding lies , corruption ,and buffoonery. Common sense has prevailed and his party have finally shown him the door. Perhaps now we can begin the process of dismantling the disaster that is brexit . We need a pro European conservative candidate at the very least prior to a labour victory at the next general election to begin the process of healing the fractures with our European colleagues.

Yes I can understand that view but in fact he stands way above anyone else in Westminster in many ways. Sadly his faults allowed too many to work against him. There has been a vendetta ever since he won the last election for the simple reason that he finally thwarted the remain lobby and did what the electorate wanted. I have no doubt that the dark forces so well known in Whitehall have had their way for the moment.

Watching  the news earlier Stamer ,no case to answer was followed by a report that said no corruption in FIFA , Platini and Blatter off the hook .

That was a tri cast I didnt see coming
Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter and vice-president Michel Platini have both been found not guilty following their fraud trial in Switzerland.

It has to be remembered that bank money and billionaires' money is highly confidential/secret and rules the roost in Switzerland.

Maybe it's not over yet, but nobody should be holding their breath...

Boris Johnson was himself the epitome of that.

Possibly the worst prime minister in the United Kingdoms History. The reputational damage we have suffered under this man and his conservative party has been immense.
The next general election and a labour government cannot come quick enough. Especially for those suffering at the bottom of our society.

We are where we are because global events have over taken us and we have a parliament full of people - I can't even call them politicians - who have their own agendas that have nothing to do with the well being of the country.
Boris Johnson was himself the epitome of that.

It just seems just so convenient.
It's obvious — parties were illegal, legitimate meal breaks remained legal...
