I see, thanks.
Also, this forum was converted from phpbb3 software when I hosted it, to SMF when Nick kindly took over. When that happened some of the old posts had the links with "strikethrough" or crossed out. They don't like you to exhume threads that are more than 6 months old.
Have fun reading through the old twaddle.

That will be one of the mods moving an off topic post (not yours, the one you were replying to)

I'm putting this here because I have no idea how this place works.

I just replied to a post that when previewed was crossed out and said something about going to the tower? What!

Tell you what, I'm fumbling my way around here like someone's switched the lights off, it's not like other forums. Not that that's such a bad thing.

In our local surgery if you're not wearing a mask as you enter, the mask wearing receptionist who sits behind a screen tells you to take a mask from a box that's on our side of the screen. I took a mask and put it in my pocket. I walked through to the waiting room to see six people, two of whom were wearing masks. The conclusion must be, my surgery is imposing the mask rule, but very very half heartedly.

Almost everyone everywhere has given up wearing masks or insisting upon others doing so.

Except my doctors' surgery which still insists on the damned things and wont let you in without one.

Which is a bit daft with no one wearing one anywhere else.

Ours FINALLY gave up the demand sometime in the last eight weeks.

Eight weeks ago I had to get an anticoagulant dosage blood test and I was asked as I had been every other time "do I have a mask".

To which I replied as always "no, I stopped wearing them after the heat build up they cause in my long Covid buggered lungs pushed me over the edge causing my collapse and got me a free ride to A&E...

Four weeks ago I was not asked, but noted several people in the waiting room still wore them

Yesterday no patient had one. Some nurses still wore the ones ICU staff wore at the height of the pox, but they've always worn large amounts of PPE because we've got a minor injuries unit in the GP surgery. No one else was.

Blimey, you've finally been converted to common sense, have you?
I thought you were going to keep wearing your face covering in the supermarket to the bitter end.
I spent 7 hours in A&E today and there was hardly a face covering in sight amongst the patients. Most staff were wearing them.
In my job wearing a mask has it's advantages. The minority of assholes that we serve you dont have to smile at and you can mutter under your breath without them knowing. It relieves you from the need to wear a false smile in the face of rudeness and bad attitude, lol

It takes 9 years to train a doctor in the UK, which considering most of the information is readily available on the internet, suggests that most medics aren't very bright.

No he's not and hasn't been.

Not that I'm complaining, I was just curious if it might explain an unexpected date.  But 100% there were a couple of messages about pending posts, in the last few weeks.  I can't remember which ones.  🤔

Oh, right, you must be on moderated posts. That might have caused a delay in it being visible.

There were a couple of posts I made, which gave me a message that they had to be checked by admin.  I just wondered if that could lead to a delay in a post appearing, and therefore affect the date.
