I'm at an age where I care little anymore, what will be will be.

I am at the age where a little excitement would be welcomed. I actually do live on a hill so melting ice caps would be no problem. The real problem is that everything is on computers these days. I still have a copy of The Reader's Digest Book Of How To Do Most Everything, but I would need the internet to know that there are steam engines in Kirklees.

There's only one place and wish we'd gone when younger New Zealand.

I can tell you a story about New Zealand, when i was a tad younger and a free spirit, one young Lady I was rather friendly with, told me if I didn't get my finger out and make an honest woman of her,she had already had a proposal letter from a friend of the family who was a sheep farmer in New Zealand, she would be off,so off she went,20 years later I bumped into her,I said hey I thought you were a sheep farmers wife, she said beautiful scenery but I was bored silly, couldn't take another day of it.Like I told her, once you have taken a walk on the wild side,no way back, she laughed and said no I was just bored. :kikass:
Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

Aw bless you that's really sad. Perhaps it would be a challenge for us but how would you advise your kids?

We have threads about coronavirus, climate change, different wars etc etc etc, we hear all the while about migrants risking life and limb for better lives, so what if it was us?

What  if life got pretty unbearable here? What would you risk to get out. Where would you go? How would you do it? Perhaps I am the only one to even think about it but I said many years ago that if we got the 5 minute warning GCHQ might be just about near enough for me to park nearby. It's bound to be a first target.

If the water rises I know I'll be drowning, but the hills are close enough and might be high enough. Disease well no contest I'll be one of the first called to my Maker. TBH dying holds no fears for me just the method could be a bit scary. I'm assuming that a bunker and food supply won't be enough. That would be relatively easy but could you do what migrants seem to be prepared for?
