At the risk of repeating myself, I've some sympathy with you.

Phone and broadband providers are probably responsible for more hair loss than age and chemotherapy combined — but I don't understand your problem with Amazon. I've changed my card details on there at least three times over the past few years...

I appear to have hit a rogue program which is stuck in 2019 and which probably still wears flares. As said, no great problem or even a problem at all, merely an observation. But I suspect that modern software goes wrong it is just too complex and expensive to fix. It is a bit like Microsoft and linux. When something goes wrong with the latter a billion delighted nerds leap upon the problem, whereas Bill's Boys look at the cost and hope the glich will sort itself out

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

It is not bad.

I need a ring spanner, but can't figure out if it is 6mm or 8mm. But the pair of them only cost £3.96 so I ordered both. So that is a plus.

On the other hand, not all the robots talk to each other. I got a new credit card over a year ago but Amazon has still not twigged so I have to enter the details with every purchase. Ditto with the mobile phone, although I sometimes feel that Tesco would be happier being paid in gold guineas than via this new fangled electric internet thingy.

And I am currently trying to close my account with Virgin Media and can't because Old Pickles wants everything except my parts number, so I suppose that I will eventually have to cancel my Direct Debit, which I don't want to do because it seems a bit rude, but needs must as the saying goes.

By and large, I am not bothered. Most of dealings are painless, the internet is cheap and to be honest, I don't mind being a bit below the radar.
