If they could be changed at will you would have changed that example 'at will'.  You failed because you were talking utter shite

Right, so you think they cannot be changed at will.  Well how do they change?  Is is by photosynthesis?  Osmosis?  Is it the water cycle?  Do new words fall from the sky and hit the books and internet so hard, the text changes?  Is it the supernatural?  😁

Oh well, I suppose you think they cannot be changed at will.  God knows how they ever change.  It must be natural selection or summink.  🥴

I never denied that the meaning of words changes over time.  You have so failed to prove Scotty's boast that the dictionary can be changed at will.

And to the original point, are you really supporting Scotty's denial that what we know as the billions of Covid vaccinations have not been vaccinations?
I don't agree with anything that Scott says about Covid and vaccinations, we have had loads of arguments over that.
I was just expressing my views on the meaning of words.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

The meaning of words have changed, I proved it. You can deny it all you want, you're still wrong.

Nope

Seems you want to misrepresent the garbage Scotty posted.  This is what he posted:
And given a challenge to change the meaning in a dictionary at will he totally failed.

No you didn't, Scott said the meaning of words in the dictionary can be changed, you said what kind of looney believes that.

Rubbish.  Intelligent people know that the meaning of words in the dictionary can be changed at will, even if the change is not reflected by the population that uses the word.   . . .

I said the meaning of the words Gay and Queer have had their meaning hijacked. You then went off on some rant saying Gay has meant homosexual since the 14th century. We've had 3 pages of bollox just cause you're trying to duck a point where you're wrong.
No we had you going off on one posting false stories about what I'd said about that link

Wrong again, I said Scotty couldn't just redefine words at will to suit his argument

What sort of loonie thinks they can reinvent the meaning of words at will to suit their sad agendas?

It didn't support what you said at all. Anyway, to get back on track, after 3 days we have proved that words get hijacked and the meaning changed, which you argued they didn't.

I screen shotted the link you used, not my fault if you can't follow it.
I asked you for proof of 14th Gay meaning, one line of txt, you produced a link as evidence. Are you denying that? Regardless of what you said, you produced that link as evidence of Gay being used as homosexual in the 14th century.

Look you're wrong, either you are lying your arse off about my post or you're just being stupid.

Go on see if you can find the words in my post 105 that you suppose say the link said gay meant homosexual in the 14th century.  Those with 2 honest brain cells to run together know I said it showed two things

- word goes back at least to 14th century
- use for homosexuality goes back at least 100 years

'The association with (male) homosexuality likely got a boost from the term gay cat, used as far back as 1893 in American English for "young hobo,"

So you have confused an association with a meaning.  So gay was associated with homosexual.  That does not say it was used to mean homosexual.  It was used to mean "young hobo".  I associate the colour grey with clouds.  But if I said to you "I saw lots of greys today", I doubt you would think it means clouds, because grey does not mean cloud.

You said, some say gay was used for homosexual back to the 14th century.  That implies gay meaning homosexual.
Yes and I said I heard that on the radio many years ago because of the association of 'gai' with the antics of French princes that never married.  You can either believe I heard that or not.  I know I did.
