Can the Police not move them Papa? If they're obstructing everything else then surely that's illegal parking. No yellow lines?

There has been a serious outbreak of buck passing about the problem from the county council, county highways, the police, the national trust.

When there is a major incident involving death(s) which is just a case of when, not if, something will get done.

Double yellow lines and no parking signs would solve most of the problem, as would a notice telling people it is a two mile walk from the road to the beach at Kynance Cove, plus the beach is 250 below the cliff, as is the café.

The problem is the tourists blocking the road into the village  because Kynance cove is rammed solid are stopping other tourists accessing the village.

The are also obstructing the bus route, ambulances, the firebrigade, the coast guard rescue team and some of the lifeboat crew and helpers.

The village has loads of parking in the village centre, but the tourists blocking the road are costing local businesses money.

Well you and your mates (you don't drink with anymore) should get the council to build a car park outside of the village with a shuttle taking people in to the village to spend their money.

Borchester

Years ago I was in a shop in central London just after the congestion charge had been introduced and the streets were deserted. And a lady turned to the chap at the till and said brightly, "Isn't it wonderful to be without all that traffic!"

And the shopkeeper said, "You are the first customers I have had all day."

Thinking about it you could set out a stall In the car park whilst they're waiting for the shuttle on how to build your own brick barbecue, you should make enough to afford the pub again :-P

Anyway leaving all that aside despite all your and other locals moans without tourists Cornwall is stuffed.

I am in an area beset by tourists at times. The locals moan like mad for the inconvenience but of course the local businesses do more trade during that time than they ever get from the locals the rest of the year. Be grateful, without them there would be nothing. Of course some people just love to moan so I guess pleasing everyone is impossible.

Tourism locally has been causing a lot of problems I blame Poldark and the National Trust's inability to manage tourist traffic, which has caused access to the village to be blocked several times.

Those tourists jamming the road up and also causing obstructions by stupid parking cut the income from tourists to business in the village.

(For your information I don't use the pubs they got too expensive for me to use a long time ago.)

I didn't ask you how you and your mates down the pub would fare but the whole of Cornwall, which both know would be badly.

Pesky tourists eh!

Still where would Cornwall be if they didn't come?

The roads have been in an appalling state for a very long time.  As for tourists we have had severe problems with them parking all over the place causing serious obstructions, to bus routes, ambulance and fire brigade access and lifeboat crew and helpers responding to emergencies.

Just getting the county ready for the summer tourists I reckon . With the expected rise in staycations Cornwall will have to step up and make sure everyone can get around without the traditional traffic problems of the past .

Cornwall Highways Department has yet again proven they cant' organise a "party" in brewery.

They have managed to have road closures for maintenance on every main road in the area for the next two weeks. (Two of the closures are nearly ten miles long.)

Most likely because it's nearing the end of the Financial Year Papa and the local authority are trying to use their budget up.

The hospitals are the same. I saw today that they are building quarantine facilities en masse. As good a reason as any to go over budget ready for next year's take.
