As sampan said  it rained in newport but that's not rare.

Up the valleys where I work rivers flowed down roads fast enough and deep enough to float parked cars, and this morning as I drove up the a449 to work the view over the usk valley from the road was ... water from edge to edge but tonight it had subsided.

Damage ? In this street none, up the road quite a bit I imagine

A cat we have never seen before has just climbed up to the top of the apple tree in the back garden.

Is this an early warning for a Tsunami?

No it's come for a birds eye view of the barbie  :)

It rained a lot in Newport, but that is not exactly a novelty.

More surprising is today for the clouds have parted and turned the sky a funny colour and of course startled everyone with that great yellow shining ball.

It has caused a lot of upset.

Grown ups are pointing at it in fear and awe and children crying with fear. Just a few old men with long grey beards and looking at each other and nodding knowingly.

I am sure this strange event will pass very soon.

Ermm it rained a lot,but in Manchester that's not uncommon.

BeelyBub will have it all itemised and have the effective wind loading of a cracked tile in Newtons, divided by the number of lifeboatmen on duty.

We had a plastic table tipped over. Storm Dennis was a killer, though, so it's not that funny.

Call this a "report"? This is just a summary. Go away and prepare a proper fully indexed report with data, measurements, photographs (where applicable) and a full cost analysis.

Having been able to carry out  thorough inspection of my home, garage, and sheds the only damage found can be repaired with a £10.70 of "builder in a tube."

A neighbour has not been so lucky all of the cladding on one of the gable ends of his bungalow has disappeared enabling rain to penetrate all of the loft. Other local properties have suffered water damage to ceilings.
