So confession time - as one of the Venus people I am asking did you remember? Did you do something nice for your other half? Do you bother at all or just let the day go by unnoticed?

Sunday lunch might be on the cards. We've got the weekend to ourselves...

You are never too old JoG. It's the small acts that say so much more. It's not too late this is still Valentine's weekend.

My Valentine's Day consisted of me cooking the evening meal.

In truth i am getting far too old for this sort of thing.

I do remember hunting high and low for one of those "capo di monte" porcelain roses for madam back in my teens though. And got one.

It's still in a (display) cupboard with the shot glasses and thimbles and stuff from holiday souveneirs

I'm feeling a bit guilty because my woman sent me a card and I forgot.

Yes I know. I should not forget these things, but I'm a bloke and blokes think about all sorts of stuff and get distracted.

I see Morrisons and Tescos have the full Valentine's meal thing on sale for some 20 quid. I'll come along in a couple of days and buy it all up on the cheap and eat lobster or something - lol.

It's this kind of commercial exploitation that probably helped me to forget!

No.

I did contemplate leaving a single red rose taped to the front door and leaving the wife and the youngest to puzzle out which it was for, and who sent it.....

But I'm too close to getting the youngest off the sofa to risk derailing that now...
