I don't think anyone is doubting that . What many observers believe though , and its not just English observers is that with the talent we have is that England should be the best team in the competition and that has been the case for some time .

For whatever reason the international team has never really gelled ,Southgate for all his tactical limitations saw this very early and fostered a club atmosphere within the squad . The benefits have been finals and semi finals in the major competitions but its never been enough to beat the teams with the tactical awareness we see with the top rated football nations . Even well organised lesser sides give us problems .

So whoever takes the job will need to show some awareness of what it takes at international level ,a quicker transition from defence to attack is the clear main problem they will have to fix if England are going to be the winners their squad should be and their fans demand

Did anyone else see a replay of the melee going on in the English goal mouth when everyone was scrambling when it looked as though England would score a second goal and a Spanish player clearly knocked the ball with his left forearm? It wasn't pointed out by anyone that I have heard and yet it looked for all the world like he knocked it away. I thought it was no accident. I was on BBC1.

That's obviously it — the BBC rigged the game against England because it didn't have enough Black players...

I fell asleep in the first half, decided to go play with getting a webserver on one of my raspberry pi's after the equaliser and i think i heard a roar of excited spanuards shortly after. 

i'm so pleased i didn't bother going up the pub as i usually do on a sunday as i'd have been unable to hear a bloody word for no good reason. At least that's it until 2026 ...

Anyway back to the footy .........He did it again didn't he ?  So negative ,kept playing Kane when he was clearly off it . No or little game time for a number of players who could have offered at least something different and maybe given the team more balance .
