We really need Thomas and Deppity Dawg back to get this place back to normal...

This place just isn't the same without them arguing with everyone about everything ;D

And where's Borky anyway?
All past transgressions are history and everyone is welcome, if you want to put out a rallying cry on other forums that would be welcome. I really liked Borky and DD, not sure where they are at.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Well you are the admin here and can see via the control panels if he's hiding or not, we can't, from my years of posting with him (since 2008 - so a long time), he usually doubles down on a fight and sticks in all the way to the end (whether right or wrong). I've always known him to be stubborn until the end and rarely known him to hide from a good battle, even if it's with the whole forum
There are members on here that will vouch that I have argued to not have him banned, I was of the belief that he would change his ways. I was wrong and previous Admin and Mods were right, lost cause that doesn't read/understand posts properly and will never concede he is wrong. What can you do?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

That's a bit unfair, it is Saturday and it says on his profile: Last Active: July 12, 2024, 07:06:47

Most of what he says winds me up no end, but can't slate him for not posting on a Saturday
Under normal circumstances you'd be right, but he has form for hiding away when he's been proven wrong. I don't think people care about the fact that he posts incorrect stuff, the fact he will NEVER acknowledge that is what winds people up. We all get stuff wrong, but being big enough to hold your hand up is what gains respect.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I quoted the governments own data, I don't need to Google that, I have that area of data book marked. Plus Trussell Trust does not operated all food banks by a long way.
Are you Joe Biden in disguise? 🥸
You can't follow the simple thread of a conversation. You said I provided no evidence to backup my claim, I told you to use Google and you come back with the fact you used the government data. Start reading what people write, or get your wife to explain it to you (seriously)

Nick you are clutching at straws and providing no evidence to back up your statement.
Total food banks, far more detailed information at link:-
Food banks in the UK - House of Commons Library (parliament.uk)

How many food banks are there in the UK?

The Trussell Trust distributed parcels from 1,699 locations across the UK in 2023/24 and there are at least 1,172 additional independent food banks. The chart below shows the number of food parcels distributed by the Trussell Trust each year to 2023/24.

This is just Trussell Trust food banks which are only about half the total:-

Why don't you respond to the statement that people stand in food bank queues smoking 🚬, or do you just think you can ignore it and carry on unchallenged like your USA visa lie?
Just throwing data at me showing food bank use does nothing to deflect from the point that some people that use food banks spend just under £5,000 a year on cigarettes. Do the maths: 20 fags a day at £13 is £4745, money they could spend on more vital stuff, like giving their children breakfast before school. Another resource setup to tackle so called poverty, children missing out on the most important meal of the day, their parents reaching for a fag in a morning whilst coughing up a lung. That one fag, costing 65p could provide that child with a bowl of Alpen, do the parents care, do they f@@k.

You come on this forum with your half dozen catchphrases and think you're some kind of soapbox socialist, in reality you haven't a clue what goes on in the world. You don't understand the implications of that one single cigarette!!

That one cigarette means that boy doesn't get breakfast due to selfish parents, at 10 o'clock that boy's head starts nodding in class cause he is running on empty, he can barely keep his eyes open cause his parents don't give a 💩 what time he goes to bed, and all night his tummy is grumbling cause he's hungry. Before you know it he's left school with nothing cause he couldn't retain anything due to his bad diet. His selfish parents don't care whether he gets a job so before long there are 3 people sitting on the couch watching TV and smoking all day. Do they care about that, no they don't, it's another person in the queue for food because they don't want to give up luxuries.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I feel sure that the use of foodbanks will fall sharply now that Labour are in charge.
It's not that anything will have changed for people financially, but that the usefulness of food banks as a political weapon against the NASTY Tory Party will have outrun its usefulness. (seriously).
Your aim was pure, however I fear the shot went in one ear and straight out the other, missing any grey matter.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Strange how the three biggest food bank users by area are:

Wales: Run by Labour council
East of England: Run by Green Council
North East: Run by Labour.

🤔

It is fact however it rose very steeply with the Tories in power and is now in the millions. Helped by Tory austerity. The link the the chart I referenced shows that.
