I was a JT, started at Swinderby then went to Locking in WSM for trade training then went to Brize on TCW. I was on the Dev Section doing bespoke bits of electronics for Special forces lads, stuff that wasn't main stream.

Had to look most of those terms up, JT = jr tech, is WSM Weston-Super-Mare or..? And I'm pretty sure TCW is tactical comms wing.

That's cool, I love aviation by the way but I'm just a chairforce general with an interest nothing more, but I've loved planes since I was a wee un

What do you make of the ongoing F-35 saga then? I wish our country was making more new planes like it once made the amazing Harrier

Where'd you serve in the RAF?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Two tier policing is as old as policing. In my youth Eton school bad behaviour was "high spirits," us "oiks" faced large fines or jail.
Same as when I was in the Airforce, can't remember which camp it was but one has a lake. 2 commissioned officers stole a sergeants speed boat whilst under the influence one night and crashed it, that was put down to high spirits also. If that had been an NCO it would have been dishonourable discharge.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

There is a ton of evidence of biased policing, which could be seen as 2-tier, and it's been going on for years.  Just watch this video in which they treat this black man with a foreign accent like he is a 5-year old, while he continuously abuses them.  (starts at 3:40)

Those princes who have done great things have held good faith of little account, and have known how to craftily circumvent the intellect of men.  Niccolò Machiavelli.

I suspect a fair number of active criminals will be amongst those arrested, and I hope "taken into consideration," (TIC) could well solve a lot of crimes. (Possibly one effecting my wife, in the Sunderland area.)

Offences taken into consideration – Sentencing (sentencingcouncil.org.uk)

When sentencing an offender who requests offences to be taken into consideration (TICs), courts should pass a total sentence which reflects all the offending behaviour. The sentence must be just and proportionate and must not exceed the statutory maximum for the conviction offence.

'Have you ever heard a police officer be so threatening?' Paul Embery on UK's two-tier policing 'be nice if took same approach to knife crime'

Author Paul Embery has hit out against the "two-tier ruthlessness" of the police during the riots in the UK.

Over the last few weeks, protests and violent riots have erupted across parts of the UK following the deaths of three girls in a stabbing attack in Southport.

Amid the rioting, there have been accusations that the Prime Minister is presiding over "two-tier" policing in the UK.

Some argue, including Elon Musk, that the police are treating white Britons to a different standard than previous demonstrators like those who attended Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 or pro-Palestinian protests since October last year.

Embery commented on a video of Chief Constable Serena Kennedy Merseyside Police telling protests multiple times: "We are coming for you."

He said: "Have you ever heard a police officer be so threatening in their tone?

"Wouldn't it be nice if they took the same aggressive approach to, say, knife crime or burglary or vehicle theft or grooming gangs? This is two-tier ruthlessness."

Those who support the idea of two-tier policing also claim that the police fail to protect white people from crime, especially young girls from "grooming gangs" like the incident in Rotherham where a group of mostly Pakistani men abused some 1,400 children over 16 years.

Speaking after Spellow Library in Walton, Liverpool was set alight, Kennedy said: "What I would say to those people who think they've got away with being involved in the disorder on Tuesday or on Saturday, you absolutely haven't got away with it.

"We are coming for you. We've got hours of social media footage. We've got hours of CCTC footage.

"I've got officers working around the clock to identify who you are, where you live, where you work - we are coming for you."

On August 3, the library on County Road was looted as rioters threw fireworks at police officers and burned wheelie bins.

Kennedy continued: "We'll be coming for you the next few days, we'll be coming for you the next few months. So you might get to next week, you might be sitting with a cup of tea thinking you've got away with it. Please let me reassure you, you haven't got away with it.

"We are coming for you. You will feel the full force of the law."

On Thursday, two brothers who looted the community hub and library were jailed for their part in the violent disorder.

Adam Wharton, 28 was jailed for 20 months while his brother Ellis Wharton, 22, was jailed for 11 months.

After the disturbance settled at about 2 am on August 4, Adam Wharton acted as a lookout while his younger brother entered the Spellow Hub premises.

Ellis was caught removing a large computer monitor and when challenged struck an officer in the chest.
