My bike is not built for track days, it's the same as the one below.

SOME tracks ban them all the time.  Then there is if you ride your plastic missile to a track day with race cans on it, the police may be laying in wait to do a stop check. (Then you are stuffed.)

What a ridiculous statement, so you are tell me that Donnington and other tracks have a ban preventing WSBK and BSB from having full factory exhaust systems? What a load of baloney. As they say, a bit of knowledge is dangerous. What you're getting confused is that SOME tracks have noise restricted days to appease the neighbours, other tracks are miles from nowhere and don't have these quiet days.

Noisy exhausts on motorcycle get all motorcyclists a bad name. The stupid thing is "race cans," are banned on most UK race tracks. A hooligan element fit the legal exhausts back on for MOTs and take them back off afterwards.

But insurance cost has been a hobby horse of his.

So to the VED for motorbikes.  Here's my plan:  make it less than £100 if and only when they are all fitted with decent silencers like us car owners have to fit. 

And if they're found with the silencer changed for an illegal one they get to make one last big noise:  the clunk as the crusher cracks the frame.

Nick was referring to Vehicle Excise licence which is £117 for motor cycles over 600cc. The thread isn't really about insurance.
