The embedded video has been removed from my OP as the matter does appear to be sub judice. It is still available on YouTube.

And ironically, today I read in the metro (hardly a bastion of journalistic light, but hey-ho) that three youths HAVE been arrested by the police and released pending (further).investigation so in between me posting the legal guidance above and pistingvthis, the matter *IS* sub judice.

Which means we can still talk in broad brush terms about such offences but we cant discuss these three people until plod officially say something....

I re-reported the Police request — I didn't originate it. You are the one raising sub judice as a topic. But if I were to accept your assurance that "anyone can say what they like" until a person is charged or formally reported for an offence, I might find myself in similar trouble to the Mirror and Sun and others over their coverage of the Joanna Yeates murder...

I understand all that. Here's the facts. Taken from https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/guides/the-sub-judice-rule-and-contempt-of-court">https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/g ... t-of-court">https://www.pinsentmasons.com/out-law/guides/the-sub-judice-rule-and-contempt-of-court

"The sub judice rule regulates the publication of matters which are under consideration by the court.

This guide is based on UK law and was written in January 2009.

Matters are considered to be sub judice (Latin for 'under judgment') once legal proceedings become active.

Criminal proceedings are deemed active once a person is arrested, a warrant for arrest has been issued, a summons has been issued or a person has been charged and remain active until conviction. Civil proceedings become active, in England, when the hearing date for the trial is arranged and, in Scotland, when the parties' pleadings have been finalised and the record is closed."

Yaxley-Lennon stupidly attempted to make public certain details of an ongoing trial and details of a trial whose conclusion was required to be withheld from all except those present in the court room until a separate matter, which had already commenced but was adjourned, had itself been concluded. I have a copy of the judge's actual statement (it helps, sometimes, to have an other half WORKING for the ministry of justice)

If it had been down to me, Yaxley-Lennon would have been hung for what he did, because he almost single handedly allowed a load of asian groomers to go free from court on the basis that HIS actions had prejudiced THEIR right to a fair trial.

But that is ancient history.

What we have here is the police clearly trying to prevent the truth of the media's censorship of Yaxley-Lennon's actions in a very different matter, using the wholly unwarranted threat that making the recordings a matter of public record, exposing the media's censorship, would impair ongoing legal proceedings.

As anyone who has ever been in a courtroom knows, all a judge has to do is demand the twelve in the jury bench declare on oath they have not seen the video.  And if a court cannot find twelve people who do not follow the twatterverse and arse book, then there is a much bigger issue than allowing the truth to be seen

If the facts are true then he did well,he's no hero to me though for other matters.

Like fighting the fight against Islamic extremism, and opening people's eyes to the horrors of the vile religion. If you want to know about the REAL TR, rather than the one the media like to portray, take an hour out and watch this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YQ94jFg_4A&t=199s">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YQ94jFg_4A&t=199s

TR has no issue with the normal Muslim, and has several friends who are Muslims. I accept he has acted recklessly through frustration, and allowed his passion to get in the way of common sense, however, after reading most of the Koran myself, I can tell you that the majority of what he says is true and correct

Many have been in situations where the protection of the venerable and defenceless has resulted in said protection and the successful prosecution of the perpetrators . Most do what needs to be done , go home and forget about it  .

He seems the only one though that has cameras at the ready for another u-tube special that will likely lead the cps to avoid an unsafe prosecution

.

The name and shame bit as he well knows comes after the court case .

Got it in one......brilliant

It was you that highlighted "Police warned people not to post details of the case or footage of the alleged incident on social media as it could jeopardise future legal proceedings." So you were reinforcing their call.

Just a quick lesson, a matter is not sub judice until a person is charged or formally reported for an offence.

Until then anyone can say what they like.

I hope that helps.

It's not my call, but reportedly a Police request (according to your link) — which seems vaguely appropriate as Robinson is no stranger to jeopardizing judicial processes by ignoring formal requests...

A man in his 30s who tried to intervene to help the couple also sustained bruising to his face, police said, and his vehicle was attacked.

Three males, aged 16, 18 and 19, were arrested and interviewed under caution before being released under investigation.

Police warned people not to post details of the case or footage of the alleged incident on social media as it could jeopardise future legal proceedings.

Well, yes, footage like that will certainly bugger plod's hopes to bang tommy up for it ... so i can see why they would like the truth to be kept under wraps, like the grooming gangs and the fillingof our so called yooniversities with asians with dodgy paperwork, like my daughter's rapist.
