"I could of course point to many similar examples of threats from labour MPs and Peers while in opposition and while last in government"

Which is whataboutery, as we are not discussing the previous govt and certainly not Nu Lab who are dead in the water and imho rightly so.

We could probably lodge the claim at every UK govt going back to...well forever.

Does that make it ok? No.

Incidentally you and I used to post on that 'other place' where you were an admin, and I got plenty of stick from C2 and Stevie boy for criticising Nu Lab. ;)

It's hardly unexpected from this govt, in my humble opinion of course.

They have form for threatening behaviour.

I thought this one was pretty funny myself.

I could of course point to many similar examples of threats from labour MPs and Peers while in opposition and while last in government. A certain minister for example - Peter Hain - wrote in the Western Daily Press that our political ca.paign meetings should be violently dispersed back in 2010.

A certain member of the Privy Counsel and former Communist Party Official, welcomed into Labours ranks,  was found furiously shredding the e evidence he was controlling the pickets who chucked a  concrete block off a footbridge killing the taxi driver taking a miner's strike breaker to work . ..

I consider your association of this behaviour with one party but not the other evidence if questionable judgement on your part

Sounds like he made a serious error of judgement. Perhaps he isn't fit to be an MP.

QuoteConor Burns has resigned as a trade minister after a report found he used his position as an MP to intimidate a member of the public.

The MP had made "veiled threats" to use privilege to "further his family's interests" in a financial dispute involving his father, the Commons standards watchdog found.

The committee recommended suspending him from Parliament for seven days.

No 10 said he would be replaced "in due course".

Sounds like he made a serious error of judgement. Perhaps he isn't fit to be an MP.
