Nurse Lisa explains how and why it is better than a hospital attendance.

Even patients in their 90s have done this.

Makes sense. All mine ever does is smile brightly, ask a few questions and look up the answers on her computer, which is today's equivalent of Ninn's. In fact the I have not had a lady doctor touch me in 50 years although I have to admit, that was a hell of a good party.

No sign of that at all at the local GP practice,

My dad had several consultations at the begining of lockdown over a joint infection.

Done via Zoom/Skype etc

Worked well, no hanging around a waiting room, no chance of infection and (it was a knee joint) not even having to leave the house

The Dr could see the problem (swelling, infection spread) and treat from there

Obvs, sometimes the Dr needs (hands on) but in those cases the patient can still be seen in person.

One of the positives from this pandemic will be things like a greater use of digital Comms for work, doctors appointments etc.

Nothing like a good drs appointment where they can give you a thorough checkover with their hands strangling you through the monitor.
