Meanwhile there protesters in London who were supposedly there to protect the statues against a Black Lives Matter protest that was cancelled, are now attacking the police and one has been pictured urinating on the memorial to a police officer who died in the line of duty.

Others are attacking journalists (after inspecting their papers to see if they work for an "approved" newspaper like the Sun or the Telegraph) - this is no doubt all in the name of the protection of our long cherished freedoms!

Black Lives Matter protests with many times more people today have been almost entirely peaceful.

Aye. Entirely peaceful. You seem to want to make it sound as if it is only "far right extremists" who fight with the Police?

Were you this observant last week about who was doing what when a load of "peaceful" BLM protestors injured dozens of coppers and caused one WPC's horse to bolt leaving her with a lung punctured and half her ribs broken?

I'm willing to bet that the number of people on the BLM side who became violent was a lot lower % of the total number attending, than on the other side.  I can't prove it without data, but, I would be very surprised if it's the other way around.

It's not surprising though that you spring up to defend extreme far right protesters with all sorts of implied excuses whilst BLM protesters are automatically all violent thugs until proved otherwise.

This also showed up in the language of the Prime Minister's comments and the implications of the exact words used - the implication was that the right wing protesters and statue defenders are all lovely people and only a few small thugs ruined it, whilst on the other side his tweets from 2 days before implied that all BLM protesters should be considered as violent thugs until proved otherwise.

If you like at the overhead aerial footage of various events from yesterday, you can see otherwise.

Well I learned something useful today, which is that bikers and ex forces folk are immune to Coronavirus.

They are so lucky being so tough that they can ignore social distancing in their heroic defence.

The whole thing is a clusterfeck of epic proportion.

The left really are so out of touch with public opinion ( as we have seen over the last 4 years if not more) that it is unbelievable.

There is no such thing as public opinion as a single blob - any opinion poll expert will tell you that it's very rare for more than about 55% of the public to agree on anything.

If you determine public opinion in terms of having support of 50% of the overall public, again that's very rare because most poll headlines exclude a fairly large % of "don't know" answers.

Also, public opinion even if expressed in terms of 50%+ support for an idea, can be wrong.  Just because 50% of people want something doesn't mean it's fundamentally correct.

It's my understanding for example that the majority of people in 1940 wanted Britain to sue for peace with Germany.  So if we went by the "will of the people" as we are told we must do on all things, Churchill should have sued for peace that time.

And I've seen a report from one of the forces veterans who were there..

I know who I believe.

You do realise the trouble actually kicked off when the police moved in to enforce their 5pm curfew, right ?

He says a small group tried to kick things off with the police and they (the veterans) stood in a line between the thugs and the police to make sure f**k all happenned.

The media is up to the same tricks here it played in the Miner's strike, film fifteen seconds of aggro, and pretend that was all it was,all day.

Quite the the media/press in Britain are a bloody disgrace.  I got very similar reports to you from the various veterans groups who had joined together for the day.

Well they certainly look like a diverse bunch of people in the photograph...

Also seeing reports of these 'anti-BLM' protestors clashing with police in London. Which seems odd.

But then I've seen antifa up close and personal taking orders from Peter Hain and a bloke I only later realised was the chief constable in full dress uniform popping into the pub they were threatening to burn to the ground with us in it to "suggest" to us we stay just where we were and buy another round while he and his chaps tell them to F@@@ off. home.

But the morons who threw fences, bottles and punches at police in addition to urinating on a memorial of PC Keith Palmer should be tazed in the face

....but all so predictable dyno . Who knew people were going to react like this to the luvvies pulling  , or more to the point , being allowed to pull down statues in bristol last week?

All im seeing everywhere is a massive backlash to BLM and huge sympathy to those defending statues.

The left really are so out of touch with public opinion ( as we have seen over the last 4 years if not more) that it is unbelievable.

I have nothing against those defending the statues as I said.

He's not referring to the war vets papa.

There aren't just war vets. They are however people NOT to be messed with, and the likelihood of them attacking police is zero.

I think you/I/he are talking at cross purposes, we're referring to those idiotic footie lads which I'm sure you agree are just thugs, and no one else apart from that is being talked about.

If war vets/others who don't seek to do anything other than protect the statues stand by it then good, it would be preferable if they did - and the Robinsons thugs should be ejected from proceedings.

Well at my age I maybe should have known better but along with a half a dozen or so 'footie lads' we went up town yesterday morning to show support for the Veterans . We are not thugs nor fans of the dickhead TR .

Neither by the way are we anti BLM .  We are anti those you see at every protest these days with signs and banners with socialist worker printed in the corner .We are anti the destruction of historical monuments and the extreme left wing anarchists who think they can trash OUR city without recourse .
Daft old bugger (only joking) yeah the face of footie has changed a lot a good number detest TR  and the extreme left too.

My issue is with the scum who threw bottles at police, and if you don't believe me then look at the videos. They are all over the web.

As someone else has described them The English KKK.

1) If you didn't go there as part of that idiotic TR group the football lads alliance (who I was referring to) or Britain Last then you aren't one of them are you?

2) As long as you didn't attack police and didn't start a fight then as I clearly said earlier, good, by all means protect the statues.

Papasmurf, you seem very confident at what has gone on in various locations in London, whilst you are locked down in Cornwall. I wonder how this can be.

I am very confident is it called information technology. Which given the bullshine on TV news bulletins and press websites I am very grateful for.
Live links from London and Bristol from people "in the thick of it," to my wife's smart phone.
Plus if it were those who are being wrongly  accused of attacking the police the media/press and the police would be having a field day.
