I spend a bit of time when I have nothing better to do (which has been quite a lot lately ) looking at the news in other countries . I would say the the vast majority have dealt with the pandemic in generally  the same way that the UK has that being following the advice of the scientists . Nobody knew how it would pan out though I think we could have best guessed some of the responses a bit better .

My only criticisms would be the care home fiasco at the start and the unclear advice given throughout where 'You must' was often followed with 'if you can ' which translated to many as 'if you like ' . Other countries followed 'You must' with or you will be fined /imprisoned

That's exactly it. As Toots has said many tiles, honesty is usually the best policy and mistakes are forgiveable as long as they're owned up to and fixed as quickly as possible. IMHO we haven't seen that from Boris. My personal hope is that they replace him and Cummings, forget any election, I wouldn't want Starmer in anyway particularly.

Apparently, many people think that there is a 7% death rate from the virus!
It reminds me of when I asked one of my best friends, a bit of an ecologist, what he thought was the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
He said "about 10%", from which point I knew he was living in utter ignorance and an easy target for the activists and brainwashers.

Depends on the age of those who catch it, over 70 it is 7.9% and that increase even further with age, pre-existing conditions add to that, put on ventilator reaches  50%.
In my case an intensive care unit specialist stated if I catch it my chances of death are 90%.

Possibly because I seldom bother to get personal...

One day you'll post something useful, which is why we put up with Smurfy. I'm not sure why we put up with you.

Now we need to work on the herd immunity, especially as we have various treatments available which will mitigate deaths.
Really?

But what is the infection rate?
Doesn't seem to matter to most people. It seems the fit and healthy are getting infected and fighting it off. Keep shielding the vulnerable to keep the deaths down.
People are finally getting it. The initial advice to get a herd immunity in absence of a vaccine was trashed by the MSM and the woolly hats shouting for a lock-down.
Now we need to work on the herd immunity, especially as we have various treatments available which will mitigate deaths.

Today's figures have deaths at seven, which is the lowest since the last time it was this low.

But what is the infection rate?

You are one very weird character, who in two days have made up some the strangest things possible.

Have you tried looking in a mirror?

Today's figures have deaths at seven, which is the lowest since the last time it was this low. So I think we should all celebrate. Except Pappy who does not do happiness. We will just tell him that the government knocked three noughts off the figure and he can settle back and be happily glum

The New York streets are not choked with the bodies of the dead and dying.

Yet.

Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

President Trump and that they can't leave their homes because the streets are choked with the bodies of the dead and dying. The belief in the general inefficiency of government does not seem restricted to the UK.

That picture depicts mass burials of "unclaimed" dead being buried in a large trench at a New York public cemetery.
