The damage this Particular issue has done is probably limited . And if it ends well then that might help .

But no one forgets an idiot ,or a group of idiots easily in political terms, no matter what party they represent.

The Tory message for a long time now has been , never mind the crap we come up with , it's better than their crap.

The fact that the electorate have accepted this  for ten years , only highlights there is no will to strive for better.

It's a no alternative ,no hope outlook they have peddled. Change of hands will make matters worse. Unless you count our leaving the EU. So yes many have lost the will to live politically.

frankly, I believe universities seeking to offer positions to students for the coming academic year should have set their own entrance examinations.

there is plenty of precedent, students wishing to enter any constituent colleges of the university of wales in 1976 (the year i entered) who did not have the requisite qualifications for whatever reason had two options to get them, the first being to resit the a levels, the second being to sit the university's own foundation year entrance examinations. Of course the universities hate doing this, it costs them money they can usually avoid spending by making a level boards spend instead but hey, here's an idea, make their ability to screw the students for £9000 a year conditional upon THEM setting the entrance exam and making all candidates sit it

the alternative of course being unemployed university dons. well whoopy doo ...

Good idea.

The universities aren't doing anyone favours. They are a business and need the students a hell of a lot more than the students need them. It is a hell of a long time since I marked a GCSE paper or invigilated at an exam, but I don't recall being paid telephone numbers, so I can't see it costing the unis overmuch. So let the idle sods do some work for a change.

No not at all . Not because they are competent but because the alternative would be worse , far ,far ,worse .

Great outlook for the nation ,ruled by incompetence, and no choice in the matter . As only more incompetence awaits. Rule frigging Britannia.
Does this hurt the Tories ,? Not  right now , as we have all lost the will to live in political terms  apparently.
Long term yes it will , because  the make up of the electorate changes with time, and right now many a new voter has only  present experience to go on.

No , we haven't lost the will to live ,there is much work to do .  The exam thing  looks like its going to be resolved so everyone gets what they hoped for so though they looked like idiots for a few days all's well that ends well ,   no?
