It is alright, I don't live in any of the above areas.

No nor me but if I did I don't think there would be a lot to worry about . Its not as if they are going to have them in town centres and many of those listed already have lorry parks even if as in Dover's case its the M20

But what else can they do? They need to prepare ahead of time and going through legal loopholes ad nauseum isn't going to help the country as a whole. The EU is not going to lie down quietly if there is no agreement, and France will be out burning tyres at the ports to stop transport. Why should the French change their ways. The only things they will be letting through are dinghies.

They will be needing a few lorry parks of their own then.

Any shipment with incorrect paperwork will be refused entry until the papers are corrected. Checking the paperwork will slow vehicle movements, which will in turn impact the ferry schedules.

It would appear currently as far as I can ascertain Brittany Ferries are not carrying freight or passengers on the Plymouth/Roscoff route until the end of next March.

They've had over 3 years. These sorts of things should have been out in motion when they invoke a50 back in 2017.

The French won't have burning tyres etc.

They (and all the other EU Ports like Rotterdam, Cherbourg and - for the purposes of the WA - Belfast) will sing apply the procedures and controls for any non-country to UK shipments

Any shipment with incorrect paperwork will be refused entry until the papers are corrected. Checking the paperwork will slow vehicle movements, which will in turn impact the ferry schedules.

It is not a surprise, it is literally what we have asked for.

The key point is the paperwork requirement will apply whether or not there is an agreement.

I will be interested as to where Plymouth council will put the extra parking needed post Brexit for Plymouth Ferry Port. (They could of course fill in the yacht basin alongside to where the Brittany ferry docks.)
