And that is your (and this forums) biggest problem. As such you are a privileged individual, who in a spectacular display of irony spends much of his time whinging about "tourists" in an area whose whole economy relies heavily on tourism to survive.

Locally does not rely on tourism at all, it is 11% of the local economy little of which end up with the people who live here.
It is a very short tourist season. Mainly staffed by seasonal staff from outside of the county, and a large tranche of the tourism based business is not  locally owned.
The particularly vile type of tourist who rocked up this year are not the usual ones at all. (That applies nationally not just to Cornwall.)
It is going to cost local council taxpayers a lot to do a clean up when they have gone.
You and other here rant on as if I am in a minority of one.
It the the majority of the local population complaining, whilst the local tourism "boss" and the MP have their head firmly up their backsides.

tourism is the second largest part of the cornish economy after agriculture.

Both industries heavily rely on the mass movement of people into cornwall  , which you oppose.

If when all this is over, the tourists refuse to come back after all the abusive signs left on motorway bridges down the M5, you'll have no one to blame but yourselves

He wont care though deppity will he?

He simply wants cornwall as one big reitrement home for himself , and stuff the young who have to go to work every day or rely on tourists to make ends meet.

If the tourists do stop going , he will simply blame the tories. ;)

Thats another made up lie.

No it isn't it is an opinion backed up by science, you really are a frankly very ill informed person. That is why you can't debate, and why you have just passed my not having a battle of wits with an unarmed person limit and you are going back on ignore where I should have left you.

Exactly. While he's sat down there bleating about everyone else breaking the rules, society learnt a lesson or two about whose jobs really are essential services, and it isn't just nurses. Because Tarquin in Finance can do his fucking job over "Teams", it doesn't get the bins emptied or pasta and bog rolls on the shelves

Is because I am retired.  People could have been back at work safely months ago had they ALL stuck to the regulations, unfortunately a significant number have not, because there is next to no enforcement.

Thats another made up lie.

Had everyone stuck to "regualtions" as you keep moaning ( majority did) the virus still wouldnt have disappeared.

We were told ages ago by the scientists and politicians that as we opened back up , the viruse would start spreading irrespective of how tightly enforced regualtions were.

The same thing is happeneing across the western world.

We cant stay locked down forever , so a balance has to be struck.

QuoteAs for badly behaved tourists who are also aggressive when asked politely to comply with social distancing and mask wearing the consensus where I live is the sooner they have buggered off the better.
They are not the usual tourists we have here at all.

aye aye. Illegal raves  tourists and beach parties are all to blame eh pappy?

We have discussed this time and gain , yet more of your nonsense.

If tourism is a big driver of covid 19 , why is it spreading rapidly in areas that arent tourist hotspots?Cornwall isnt your personal retirement home , the vast majority of cornish need and welcome tourists to supply much needed jobs and income.

You dont care though do you , sitting at home on a big fat pension and "your other investments".

The cornish socialist workers party will take a dim view of your capitalistic exploits and lack of thought for your fellow working man.

The truth is papasmurf, the only reason you are able to lock yourself away

Most of my neighbours are staying at home, except to go shopping when they need to and to go to work.

You've peddled some utter rubbish on these forums, but the idiotic, self centred and naive belief of fools like you who seem to think we can all just lock ourselves away for months on end for YOUR benefit, without there being any consequences is biggest pile of horseshit yet

again well said deppity. The guy as we know is nothing more than a spitefull hatefull individual who cares nothing for no one outside himself .

We have been told this isnt a storm we can wait out , and that we can wash our hands all day long , wear masks until eternity , lock ourselves away for the next ten years , but the virus will still be sitting waiting on us when we emerge.

Most folk outside the delusional world of smurf recognise we have to strike a balance between society continuing to function and those who are vulnerable taking precautions.

Quote from: papasmurf on September 13, 2020, 09:23:13 AMIt is people like him who are the problem. If there had been 100% compliance with the regulations the problem would have been gone  months ago.

He isn't the one constantly complaining, bleating about litter and tourists, and telling everyone he will die unless the whole world locks itself away and hide under the fecking bed

While you've been hiding away in your retirement home, many of us have worked day in day out through lockdown, including many weekends and much overtime to try and make up for staff shortages due to self isolation and limp-wristed individuals refusing to come to work even though they work in mandated essential industries and services. Last week was the first week off I've had off this year, and a lot of the guys I work with have done the same - we've had to, because much of the work our business does idiots like you take for granted

The truth is papasmurf, the only reason you are able to lock yourself away is because millions of ordinary workers kept going to work, not just nurses and doctors but 10s of thousands of support workers, to ensure that hospitals could still function, that electricity water and gas services remained live, that there was food in the shops for you to eat, that essential services like police, fire and ambulance still functioned, that things you take for granted like the internet, the telephones and sewerage system continued to work, and that society could still function

You've peddled some utter rubbish on these forums, but the idiotic, self centred and naive belief of fools like you who seem to think we can all just lock ourselves away for months on end for YOUR benefit, without there being any consequences is biggest pile of horseshit yet

It is lying about me I complain about, and it case you hadn't noticed it is you going off topic not me.

you took the thread off topic , with your constant lying.

Then the rest of us can get along with debating subjects without your constant trolling.

If you actually read the context, Bojo-The-Clown has again introduced a lot of regulation for Covid-19 with bugger all real enforcement to back the up.
I then comment that is odd when he proposes taking out human rights away.
It isn't piffle and it is connected.

Your quote i highlighted didnt in any way mention covid , but was yet another trolling anti tory comment regarding human rights.

You are trolling the thread yet again as ever.
