Pappy and his layabout friends at the truro branch of the cornish socialist workers want the economy trashed  , and the young thrown on the scrapheap just so he can make a political point.

The young though have other ideas , and are proving much more resilient than even pappy could imagine , so he is resorting to his predictions of armageddon at the end of the year to keep us all on our toes.
I have a theory that the last year has shown that we don't need such a large workforce and that the country can just as easily allow a lot of folk to sit at home on a decent wage doing sod all.

But I am having too much fun to go into it now. I will start on the shower room instead. That always pisses me off and sets me up for some serious thinking.

The funny thing is that even with vast chunks of the economy shut down, we don't seem to be doing too badly. I am a pensioner and get paid for staying alive, so can't really comment on the lives of the poor buggers who actually have to work for their livings, but I thought that by this stage the country would have ground to a halt.

But it ain't.

It is all smoke and mirrors, give it a couple of months.

I wrote ATTEMPTING to do 130mph in a 30mph zone.

...and no one believed you.

Even sensitive steve took the mick out of you and essentially called you a bullshitter.

Right. And this was where you and other members of the local darby and joan militia banded together to stop visiting motorists doing 120mph in 30mph zones, leaving piles of shite 6 feet high and litter all over your lawn (and other scarcely credible stories, courtesy of Papasmurf)?

Your whole attitude since this 'pandemic' began has been hostile to everyone who dared come to Cornwall - and inevitably, we couldn't possibly have a Papasmurf post without the mandatory swipe at the Tories

Yawn....

I wrote ATTEMPTING to do 130mph in a 30mph zone. The shite and rubbish is all over the SSSI and the area of out standing natural beauty. NOT my front garden, which does not have a lawn. My "stories," have been all over the media/press because the hooligan tourist problem has been all over the UK not just  Cornwall.
That you don't keep up with news and current affairs is YOUR problem not mine.
My wife has volunteered for the speed checking team because of the extremely dangerous drivers.
(There also a 20mph limit being proposed.)

The Tories deserve a swipe at possible chance to do so.

exactly deppity.

His whole attitude as ever is best summed up as being about self self feckin self.

Its all about whats best for selfish pappy , instead of whats best for cornwall.

Not content with pissing on the backs of the young in hertfordshire , with buying up all the ex council house stock and re selling them at vastly infated prices for his own personal gain , he now wishes to piss on the back of the young in cornwall by stopping the tourism lifeblood coming into the county which in turn makes them redundant.

They then have to move out the county to look for jobs elsehwere , making cornwall quieter and emptier for pappy to enjoy .

There is a method to his madness. Pappy wants to set himself up as the tory grandee of his own personal tory fiefdom in cornwall.

Pappy smurf...the duke of cornwall. :)

Quote from: papasmurf on October 18, 2020, 10:32:44 AMLocally the young people are in general with a few exceptions, excellent. My comments about tourists are aimed at the badly behaved shower who have rocked up this year, and left the place a large rubbish dump, and an open air toilet.
They have illegally and obstructively parked, and illegally camped. Their driving is appalling, the accident rate has gone up dramatically.
They will have cost local residents money by the time the clean-up is completed.
If you think I am alone in my opinion, you are wrong, locally people are very angry.  The local (Tory,) MP seems to have gone into hiding.

its been pointed out to you many a time the utter hypocrisy and total delusion of your many comments.

Tourism as borkie and other have told you many a time is the lifeblood of cornwall. Many of the young in cornwall which over the years you have slagged off repeatedly dont have your comfortzone of sitting at home  living off a pension....they have to go out and earn their keep off the very tourists you hate.

Cornwall isnt your personal fiefdom where the popualtion have to conform to your beliefs......you are the foreigner from hertfordshire  who has moved there to retire. So you know what they say...when in rome.....

And your attitude to the young, holiday makers, and anyone who comes to Cornwall in general, has helped these people how exactly?

I don't know about nationally but locally the people who are doing jobs like mending roads, dustbin/reclamation collection, builders and similar seem to be just short of being Zimmer frame pilots.
