Toni Comín and Lluís Puig fled to Belgium with Carles Puigdemont, the ex-premier who led the failed breakaway bid from Spain, while Clara Ponsatí went to Scotland. Their lawyer, Gonzalo Boye, said on Tuesday that his clients will voluntarily walk into a police station "as soon as we receive the summons."

Clara Ponsatí is the chair of economics at the university of St Andrews, Fife.

This is an utter disgrace. Using the European Arrest Warrant to treat people who are fighting for independence as if they are serious criminals or murderers.

The EWA would be fought on the grounds that the offence is an offence in Spain but not in Scotland if it were issued for the Cataluña independence issue. However, they are using charges relating to using government funds for their independence cause.

It stinks.
