Churchill

You talk a good job but I think that's about your limit.

Where are you going to get a workforce to replace them overnight ?

The new department would not need anything like as many staff. Much of the work currently done is doctrinally based and not needed at all.

(Especially the contracted out services.)

Talk about stereotyping all are useless and don't know how to do their jobs , in one sweeping strike of a pen you in your wisdom would sack the entire workforce of the DWP, which is rather large as it is the largest Government body with the largest budget in the UK.

Which would mean hundreds of people would be put out of work and would need benefits to tide them over until they found other work, perhaps you had not considered that when people join the Civil Service most of them are highly qualified with good educational skills, far greater than you or mine and they stay within the Service for years.

Given the way they have been treating people since May 2010 they need to experience some suffering.

The ONLY way they could even be considered for the replacement department is taking and passing an intensive re-education program.

If it were down to me I would shut down the DWP and bar any current staff from being given jobs in the replacement, which would be based on medical experts examination and medical records. (With no privatised aspect of it.)

Many of the present Civil Servants will have been in place when Labour were in Government  and many probably still are , Governments come and go they stay put and carry on doing what they are trained to do,

Where are you going to get a workforce to replace them overnight ? not down the Job centre that is for sure , yes mistakes have been made when it comes to medical assessments which needs addressing and closely monitored constantly, you name me one occupation or profession some of whose workforce does not make any mistakes.

Thankfully it is not down to you and your lack of Logic and common sense otherwise the wheels would really come off, besides its a task you are not qualified to do and would probably make things far worse, its easy and safe to be an armchair expert with no come backs if you call it wrong

Just watched "Roadwars" on TV. A man living in a large 4 bed house with a fleet of cars and three houses he rents out to foreigners has been claiming benefits for 20 years. Needless to say the DWP wasn't aware of this, but my point is that the system is lax.

It only gets mentioned because of the rarity of such cases.

The many cases like this one rarely get a public airing:-

A 58-year-old disabled man says he has been ordered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to provide proof of his disability, despite being born without arms or legs, it has been reported.

Kevin Donnellon is among 2,000 UK babies who were born with severe deformaties and other disabilities caused by the morning sickness drug Thalidomide. Only one in four of these people have survived into their 50's.

Despite this, Kevin was asked to complete a questionnaire in order to receive the main benefit for chronically sick and disabled people, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – which is replacing Disability Living Allowance for all working-age adults in the UK.

Kevin was shocked to have been sent the 24-page form for PIP, and has lashed out against the UK Government's cruel welfare reforms for unfairly targeting disabled people.

"It's not like my arms and legs have grown", he said.

Your really are a boring old fart. Go talk to someone who cares what you say or think.

I really am not responsible for you cognitive dissonance. You would soon change you mind if anyone you know suffers at the hands of the DWP.

No actually it's down to your personal prejudices since you have no idea what you're talking about. Repeating endless gossip about people you claim to know to be defrauding the welfare system isn't personal observations. Like your claim that you've reported these alleged scammer and the DWP did nothing. How do you know the DWP did nothing? They may well have investigated the case and found that what you claimed was a load of bollocks and they were perfectly entitled to welfare. You seem to think that people aren't asked to justify their claim.

This case is far from the only one people have lost the welfare they are entitled to because of DWP decisions.

"The victim of an acid attack who suffered 50% burns to her face and body has overturned an attempt to strip her of a disability benefit after being told she was fit for work.

The woman, who finds it difficult to sit or stand for long without pain and is bed-bound for weeks after reconstructive operations, appealed after officials awarded her zero points at an assessment to test her eligibility for disability employment benefit."

And something else which may enlighten you. ( Though I doubt it.   )

Right. So Mr & Mrs Smith with their 2.1 kids have to privately rent their house because all the social housing is either given to the disabled, unemployable, single mothers, or refugees. They both work 40 hours a week, which allows them to feed and cloth the 2.1 children, drive a 15 year old banger, and have a week in Skegness once a year. Up the road Mr Taylor lives in 2 bed house with his cat Tiddles. Mr Taylor's house is of the social variety, and he got this because he has a disability. Whilst his choices of work are limited, he has chosen not work at all. Mr Taylor chose to put his allowance towards a brand new car. Fortunately enough he is left with more than enough money to go the pub a few times a week, and have a foreign holiday every year. He also enjoys fishing, and spends many an hour by the river bank sipping Special Brew and eating crisps. In the evening he sits in front of his 48" TV on his nice comfortable sofa, and settles down for the evening. Meanwhile, Mr & Mrs Smith are darning the kids socks, and knitting sweaters to keep warm.

Ring any bells ?

None of which you offered as evidence. Instead you quoted a biased blog published by one disgruntled, disabled man with an axe to grind. Stop wasting everyone's time you old fool!

The media and press not reporting it does not mean is isn't happening. There is Hansard, Select Committee reports, the DWPs own data and many other official sources.
