Are you suggesting that WE won't have access to these trappings? You must be or you wouldn't have said it.
You're deluded.
Of course you will, just that your Govt are going to slap some heavy tariffs on, so you can pay a lot more "tax".
Then there's the issue of getting them, maybe fly them in because the UK has nothing ready for Jan. No kent lorry park, no working customs declaration IT system, no 50 000 customs officials.
Let's see how the trade talks go, because as we all know the EU needs the UK so much more than the UK does, lucky that !

For those who continue to question any benefits of Brexit:These are the benefits of Brexit the EU do not want us to have.
Control over our own territory.
Sticking to their rules.
Playing under their referee.

All about that sovereignty, which the EU-philes say we never lost, yet Brussels are really hating to see it fully restored to us.
The UK is or will be fully sovereign jan 1, oh wait, no they won't be, they signed away so much to Japan, for what ?  About 15b in exports, yep a full 15b. Compared to near 295b to the EU. But the UK can sign up to worse terms with Japan but can't agree with the EU.
The EU is looking to agree 3rd party governance on oversight and of course you follow our standards  just like any country selling into the UK will need to follow UK standards.

Barry how many trade deals has the UK agreed where those deals are fully on the UK terms which is what you seem to want.

Quote"We have not successfully rolled back the frontiers of the state in Britain, only to see them re-imposed at a European level with a European super-state exercising a new dominance from Brussels.

Working more closely together does not require power to be centralized in Brussels or decisions to be taken by an appointed bureaucracy.

Using your post as reference it is the number of people served by the local rag and it isn't 906.

remember what guy verhostadt said....

QuoteThe world of tomorrow is not a world order based on nation-states or countries. It is a world order based on empires ... in which we as Europeans, and you British, can only defend your interests, your way of life, by doing it together, in a European framework and in the European Union."

The eu empire , and to hell with your soveriegnty as far as he is concerned.

Labour mp peter shore famously summed up the eec and the european project i nthe seventies...

QuoteShore said when the Commons was asked in 1972 to accept the Treaty of Rome:

"It is a treaty – the first in our history – which would deprive the British Parliament and people of democratic rights which they have exercised for many centuries.

I can think of no treaty, to cite only one characteristic of the Rome Treaty, in which the British Parliament agree that the power to tax the British people should be handed over to another group, or countries, or people outside this country, and that they should have the right in perpetuity to levy taxes upon us and decide how the revenues of those taxes should be spent."

He added later: "I did not come into socialist politics in order to connive in the dismantling of the power of the British people.

Toots said follow the money , and it was you who started ranting about bankers and the cayman islands hence why ireland got brought into it and we all started laughing about apple and the 14 billion euroes and borkie and me started posting stuff about ireland being the worlds biggest tax haven.

Three and a half weeks to go gerry. You and your anglo remain friends will be crying into your poiteen in your shebeen in catford.
Ill be sitting in Dublin by the Christmas tree drinking some nice European wines with some fine Irish and French cheese, with some great Italian meats.
If you want to laugh, then laugh at the Russians swishing their Trillions through London and thanking Farage for duping the UK into the greatest act of self harm so they get to keep their tax haven does open. Like I say the UK is a champions league player in that regard, IRL is only chicken feed by comparison.

For those who continue to question any benefits of Brexit:
QuoteAfter months of negotiations, there has barely been any movement on three areas of disagreement - fisheries, ensuring fair competition guarantees and ways to solve future disputes.

There's no going back, even if the UK looked to rejoin it would be decades before it would happen.

The party is all booked up for hogmanay. I will raise a wee glass for you gerry  , and hope you come to the end of your misery and the new year brings you a happier time of it.

I think you'll find it was someone else that brought up irl as a tax haven and if you look at the link I just posted you will see Irl is in the baby leagues compared to the UK. This is one of the main reasons for brexit, the money wrapped that up in a nationalistic cry to take back control of your fish. The very same fish that the UK sold 50% of its fishing rights to foreigners, so who's doing the fishing in January, half the UK fleet is not UK owned. As for making your own deals, How's that going. Japan is letting you have sloppy seconds after the EU does all its trading and the UK agreed more stringent level playing field provisions than what the EU requested. Joke stuff really

Well the great unwashed don't have much to lose, they have pretty much lost everything anyway, so a shot at freedom through democracy, is an easy choice.
The amusing part of course is, the people who keep telling them how they are missing out, even if you don't have a sense of humour that must bring a smile.
Thats what you think, however bad it is it can get worse and project fear is really project reality. 200b and counting.

Handy for Johnson having the covid crisis that he can mask brexit impacts and blame for any brexit issues. Hopefully some journalists keep a close eye on things and make sure people know whats going on.
There's no going back, even if the UK looked to rejoin it would be decades before it would happen.
Things are bad enough globally with countries struggling with covid, I don't envy the UK and what your facing next yr.
