Nothing to do with Brexit but because of the threat from the new variant of covid-19.  My guess is that it's too late and the new variant is already circulating in Europe and this will become news in the next few days.

More correctly accompanied freight has been stopped. Trailers can be loaded/unloaded from the ferries by "tug." (Special tractor with 5th wheel hitch just used in docks/RORO ferry terminals.
It is not a panic situation (yet.) 
IF people don't panic buy in supermarkets, (pigs will fly,) there should be no problems (Yet.)

Anyway, not only that, but it was first detected in September and known about since October allegedly, so don't try and tell me nobody but one person has travelled to Europe with it since.

Update - I see it's been found in Netherlands - where the latest spike is even worse than here in proportion to population, Denmark and Australia.
