Barry is there no straw to which you will not grasp to shore up your prejudices? All I see is an editorial cock up in a media organisation. I am not aware of any Government official quoting this individual,be he real or otherwise. MSM however keep quoting the sexual fantasies of Adrian Zenz who literally pulls accusations out of his rectum.
By contrast, the weight of evidence pointing back to the US is overwhelming, with the US deliberately suppressing access to the postmortems of those that died of "Vaping" and "Very Early Flu" in the summer of 2019. If they have nothing to hide, why not release them?

QuoteThe Swiss Embassy in Beijing has said on Twitter that a Swiss biologist recently referred to several times by Chinese media probably doesn't exist, and has asked China to take down articles it called "false" news.

"While we appreciate the attention on our country, the Embassy of Switzerland must unfortunately inform the Chinese public that this news is false," the Swiss Embassy said.

Chinese media outlets cited someone named "Wilson Edwards" discussing the origins of the coronavirus and the independence of the WHO. Media sites such as CGTN, Shanghai Daily and Global Times used the purported biologist in articles based on information on his Facebook account.
The Swiss Embassy pointed out his account had been created just two weeks ago, and only had three friends. "It is likely that this Facebook account was not opened for social networking purposes," it remarked.

Shanghai Daily's digital platform Shine posted: "A European biologist has come to the fore with a startling claim that a World Health Organization (WHO) advisory group on tracing the origins of pathogens including the virus responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic, would become a 'political tool.'"

The diplomatic office confirmed there was no registry of a Swiss citizen named "Wilson Edwards," and no academic articles in the biology field under that name.

The delegation said it assumed the articles had been shared in good faith and requested that anyone who had posted the story take it down or correct it.

Many news organizations who picked up the story have since removed references to the alleged biologist.

I am glad somebody pointed me to these videos, they are collectively called 4K walks and are simply videos of somebody walking through districts and areas of Chinese Cities throughout the country. They have no narration or soundtrack, purely the ambient sounds of the location.
This one is in Guangzhou, the provincial Capital of Guangdong, which is the province to which Hong Kong is a part.

I enjoyed this, a walk through a number of back street areas of Nanning, where people hand make things, repair things or run low cost street cafe's etc.
It does I think illustrate that repair and sustain is easier to do, when the cost of living in not through the roof and people can still make a living doing these things.

I used to know a number of areas like these in Hong Kong, when I first started visiting the city, now as land prices and property prices/rents have rocketed, there are not so many left, not at least in the areas I know in Kowloon, maybe they are still there in the further outer districts.

Kirk is another to have made a trip to Xinjiang to see for himself.
In this preamble video, he speaks as a Canadian in comparing the Chinese treatment of Uighurs and other minorities, to the treatment by Canada of its native Minorities.
Very through the Looking Glass stuff!

I liked this, combining China and property, must be in heaven. Kirk is looking to move flat and so takes us all with him on his viewings.

The flats shown range in price from £25,000 for a second hand to £50,000 for brand spanking new.

This is a bit different as it is a professional video from CGTN
Its well worth watching though as it visits Ningxia and shows how people have used and transformed the deserts in the region.

Quote from: Sampanviking on April 08, 2021, 12:31:47 PMI know, me rely on the BBC! It is however just one source among many.
Quote from: BBCThe Hong Guang Mini EV saw sales of 112,000 for the second half of 2020, ranking second behind Tesla's Model 3 which are made in its Shanghai factory.

Earlier this month five Chinese regulators summoned Tesla over quality and safety issues at its plant. China is Tesla's largest market after the US.

For January, Hong Guang Mini sales outstripped Tesla almost two-to-one. It is now believed to be the second-best-selling electric model worldwide behind the Model 3.

The tiny, all-electric EV sold 25,778 models in China in January according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). This compares to 13,843 for the Tesla Model 3.
In China, not the world.
Certainly seems a good little budget car. I can't imagine it carrying 4 passengers like Cromwell, JoG, Barry and T00ts in comfort.  Dancing
